Would sacrifice that for some more movie making information (used to enjoy the whole scene with a Bee from Honey I shrunk the Kids). Seems like thrill rides are cheaper to make in terms of creative juices if not currency. its not like there aren't plenty of thrill rides, even in Orlando. Hopefully, if Star Tours is remodelled it won't look like the lame 'Jar Jar Binks' excuses that passed off as Star Wars films. GMR still enjoyable!

He knows the mindset at TWDC today. Nothing is designed to be temporary. I don't know the particulars of the BAH, but I do know the wand was planned to be there for a decade minimally. I would guess they felt the hat would be there as long if not longer. It's just how WDW operates. That's the same type of reason why Mickey's Toontown Fair exists today ... why a Milennium Illumination show plays on a decade later ... why incredibly stale and tired shows and attractions go on and on ... So when Eric designed the monstrosity I am pretty certain he didn't think 'gee, what a lovely, magical hat. too bad it will be gone when this 12 (or was it 18 or 24?) month marketing campaign ends.'

That would be big enough to see, I bet. I love IllumiNations, though!

The wand was only meant to be in place for 18 months - I have numerous presentations that show that. Epcot Ops decided to keep the icon and I can't see how that is the fault of anyone at WDI. They design the structure and it is up to WDW management how they use it.
