I'm a serious fan of that pumpkin flavor. But I still like bacon too.

I had heard a lot of great things about it, but I didn't think that the end result was much more than an oversized version of Mickey's Toontown with 3 attractions that were fun-but-just-okay, with one of the most overblown budgets in the history of TWDC. To me, Earl serves pretty good sandwiches. They won't change your life, but it will be nice to have a new counter service location in DTD (I think that guests staying at the DLH will enjoy it the most, since they only have one counterservice restaurant with a limited menu). During my trip to DLP this spring, I had breakfast both days at their Earl, and was surprised by how good the breakfast sandwiches were; hearty and filling without being heavy, and served hot with a minimal wait (though I was the only guest there).
Originally Posted By FerretAfros >>they have some sort of panini machine that seals up the sandwich - so the cheese (and everything else on it) is a melty and good - It might have something to do with the bread too,<< They only bake the bread halfway before making the sandwiches. After the ingredients are assembled, they send them through the oven to give them a final toast, which melts the cheese, finishes baking the bread, and lets everything seep together. It's a simple concept that ensures fresh bread and a high-quality product, yet it doesn't seem to have caught on anywhere else.

Originally Posted By FerretAfros >>Is it like a 6" Subway sub size or larger/smaller?<< It's about that same size, but a lot more filling. Instead of being half of a baguette, they're all on their own chibatta-like roll. MMC's pricing sounds about right, which isn't bad for a quick meal in tourist areas.

While it's technically part of the DL Resort, there are many places on Harbor Blvd that are much closer to the park entrances. Going by the slogan that HoJo's is closer to DL's front gate than the DLH itself, I would guess that Mimi's is closer than Earl will be. And between Mimi's and the front gate (and down Harbor in the other direction), there are tons of other restaurants, yet the Italian place in DTD does just fine. As with all things at DL these days, I suspect that the crowds will be insane for the first 2 weeks, while all the APer from the online world go to check it out, then it will find its balance at a much more reasonable crowd level.
