I applaud you on this revelation oc_dean. I never thought about this before till you mentioned it in a POTC ride thread. You are so right.

There was plenty of media coverage when the project was announced. There will be crickets chirping until designs are released.

You'll probably be one of the first people in line at the previews.

Nope. No desire. Hate DAK, hate Avatar. I'll be enjoying WWoHP 2.0 or one of the other projects Universal has coming down the pipe.

DAK has...the animals and the Safari. That's about all that's interesting to me. And I can do that in 3 hours. EE is a boring coaster with decent theming. Dinosaur is a shell of its former self.

Fact of the matter is, DHS is worth the admission price. DAK isn't for me.

I get that we all love theming, but I'd rather have a few portions of questionable theming and better content over great theming (even though I don't really think DAK is all that great) and limited to no content.

And Rockin Roller Coaster is a masterpiece of Disney Imagineering?

I don't know, while there's no arguing that DHS has AK beat on content, the poor execution of the place (I'm looking at you Great Movie Ride), lack of clever themeing beyond HW Blvd, and seemingly random development over the years makes it pretty close to being a wash with DAK. If done well Avatar-land (or any well conceived and executed project) could have the potential to make the park easily surpass DHS.

    Star Tours: B+
TSMM: used to think it was an A-, now think of it as a B
    Mermaid: B
    One Man's Dream: B
    Indy: C+
    RNRC: C
    Fantasmic: C
    LMA: D
    Mulch, Sweat, and Shears: D
    Backlot: F

But overall I'd rate the park a C. Way too much of the park is stale and unchanged from the early 90s (Muppets, GMR, Mermaid). The Star Tours upgrade was nice, but didn't make the park more of a draw for me.

Not sure what I'd rate DAK. In winter or spring before it gets too hot, if I got in for free, I'd probably give it a B+.

If I went to DAK in summer and paid to get in, I'd probably give it a D.
