Has Dinosaur at DAK had even one rehab, even just a couple of days long, in the last five years? >>> And, the normal excuse used for lack of maintenance and refurbs at WDW (i.e. "We can't take the rides down to fix them, because guests will complain!") doesn't apply to CTX, at least as far as the bumpiness of the ride is concerned: The ride system is almost entirely contained within the vehicle itself. Outside of the vehicle, it's just a concrete roadway with a power/control/guide bus running down the middle. All of the mechanics, hydraulics, etc that move the vehicle and cause it to bump and move about are self-contained within each vehicle. This means that the vehicles can be taken out of service individually for preventative maintenance or even complete overhauls without having to shut down the whole ride. If this is needed but has not been done to the same extent that it's been done for Indy, there's only one reason, and it's not to keep the ride open. <<< Why, oh why did they build Dinosaur, when WDW could have had an Indy? >>> I wonder that myself. Or more specifically, why did they go to the trouble (and expense) to replicate Indy but then waste some of its best attributes? The large, multi-level room that's core to Indy is completely wasted for CTX, even though the money was spent to build it structurally.
