May 2004: Animation building PACKED due to ToT opening., didn't see Drawn to Animation though. July 2005: Animation building did not enter, but plenty of people seen entering. (stepped into Hollywood for only ToT and Muppets) Only seen once, but through my five visits, it was very busy according to my memory. I don't know about you guys, but it was very, very busy all the times I've been there, and as you see, my range goes from around the show's opening (along with the park) to pretty much its end (the last trip was right before August)...and seemed like it was doing well. Yes, the animation redo is baffling. Turtle Talk...I can understand? But why fix where you've gone right? "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"...while Paradise Pier is screamin' (pun intended) for Project Sparkle...color me confused...

They should put those video games in there! Maybe even a mini playground or water play area. It could be princess themed because some of the stuff on the screen looks like princess movies. This is really what DCA needs because there is not enough for kids to do. Both the playground and the princesses are kid friendly. Also that expensive merchandise in the Off the Page shop needs to go. They have already added a lot more plush than they had at opening, but there are still too many statues that block my path, and a big painting wall that is taking up valuable tee shirt space. They should replace all the display cases with Crush dolls and walls with my favorite Disney Princess tees. I am wearing my favorite one right now, but it is getting kind of old. I hope they add more cool jasmine stuff, I am getting really tired of the Belle designs. they never change much. Those are just a few of my ideas, what do you guys think? just my two cents http://www.JiminPasadenaisnthe rebutIguessthisisagoodspotforanotherplugforoneofhiswebsitesmanthispageisgoingtogetreallyreallywidewiththislinkbesuretovisitourgiftshopforyourfavoritestitchjokeofthedayandallkindsofdiscountedpoohsweatersihopeyouliketherecentimprovmentsanddrawntoanimationisbeingremovedandtheanimationpavillionisgoingintothetoilet.com

If it was a gem, it wasn't advertised at all. How about some posters on the OUTSIDE. There is no advertisement in the park. No won't know it exists unless you're an animation fan." That's how I think "Millionaire" got canned. Sure, it was frequented by a lot of "Annual Passholders" but there was no real advertising being done for it as well. Being set off in the corner next to two closed buildings (i.e. Superstar Limo & "Hollywood & Dine") and the events of 9/11 didn't really help matters either. But taking away the "Drawn to Animation" show is just simply wrong. The building is called the "Animation Building" for a reason. Granted there are several different types of animation but it was cool seeing what went into making some of the earlier animated titles.

I walked out feeling like I had just sat through a movie preview. And the CM wasn't that bad, it was just so 'fake'. Fake animator, fake dialog with a cartoon character on film, and preview.

This lobby is one of the coolest things Disney has ever done. I look at it as an attraction in itself. Every visit, I'll spend at least 20 minutes or so just standing there slack jawed, enjoying the bombardment of images and music from the incredible catalog of Disney animation. And I'm totally pleased that the princesses are out - they got in the way of my slack jawed standing!

Diaper changes occuring on the couches as the parents waited to meet Cinderella also affected my feelings quite a bit. I'm glad to hear they have left the building. And during a hot summer day I can grab a cool drink and sit in that lobby for an entire loop of the films. It is a fantastic creation, and the way the presentation is setup, I beleive that it shows that the artsy/hip/alcohol drinking orignal ideas of the park could have worked alongside the Disney characters. It is too bad they abandoned the idea completely before the first year was over. It is a more "sophisticated" experience, I believe.

For some reason, messages 21-30 come up really wide screen on my computer, so I didn't take the time to scan back & forth and finish reading. Sorry bout that. So, maybe we will be visiting that lobby together some time soon???
