I don't get it. So was the show called "Tiki Room" when MK opened and later renamed "Tropical Serenade"?

Although I love the Disneyland Tiki Room, I completely agree.

Why bring back the same show and songs that were not popular in FLA?! UNM was a bust, but that doesn't mean new songs couldn't be used. And not just popular pop songs but some beautiful Island arrangements. I've always wanted to hear Aloha Oi coming from the BirdMobile.

As Goofy mentioned, that was for the fact it was connected to the Sunshine Tree Pavilion and wanted to be aligned with their product.

Sorry I'm late, but I can shed some light on the "Tropical Serenade" title thing.

When Florida Citrus Growers and Disney were in discussions, it was pitched by WED as the Tropical Serenade, starring the Enchanted Tiki Birds. Potential sponsors didn't want their names slapped on the same show that United Air Lines and Dole had in California. The Tropical Serenade title made it sound like something new. In fact, the sign over the door read "The Enchanted Tiki Birds," (not "Room")until the New Management went up, and Birds was then changed to Room. I'm not talking about the marquis that read "Tropical Serenade." That was there too, and became the "Under New Management" sign that featured Iago and Zazu holding paint brushes. There is photography of the sign that proves this, if you care to look it up.

Next question ... Is it going to be the full 1963 show? Or is it DL's current edited show, that excised the "Barcarolle" Offenbach number?

It would be nice if tourist can have the option of one Disney resort that contains the full '63 show.

    We'll see.
