Didn't you hear? The future is full of monsters. (actually, there's an aspect to this that's true... but sadly, they don't come from Monstropolis, and they're much more destructive...)

    >>>I wish WDI would get it thru their heads that there's a reason why people love attractions like Pirates and Mansion and Peter Pan ... they take you into and immerse you in a different time and place.<<<

It's much the same reason people love to experience a great theatrical production or a great movie over and over - put on a good SHOW - a great story - something that overwhelms the senses and emotions, and you create an appetite where it didn't exist before - for that specific SHOW.

It doesn't need CG animation, or interaction on a personal level or any other doo-hickeys -- it just needs to be a great show. Showmanship. Quite lacking these days, everywhere.

America Sings is the most famous example. What does a show about history have to do with Tomorrow? Also at tokyo disneyland there is a gothic mansion in Fantasyland next to Dumbo! talk of themeing clash!

There are also plenty of other things that don't fit in their land (mostly in Tomorrowland): 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea walk-through at DL, The Dutch Boy Gallery of Paint, The Art of Animation (in TL in the early 60's), Great Moments with Mr Lincoln on Main Street (he was about 40 years too early), The Walt Disney Story on Main Street (too late this time), Babes in Toyland set on Main Street, Pirates of the Caribbean in New Orleans Square, Meet the World in TL, Test Track in Future World, Rock n Rollercoaster on Sunset Blvd, MuppetVision in the backlot (DCA or MGM), HISTA in TL, most of the Hall of Presidents in Liberty Square, and things that kind of fit but end up sticking out even more like Star Tours in Discoveryland. It is nothing new, and will probably never go away, but it would be nice if it was kept to a minimum.

The place where you board the boat to take you to the Caribbean is in New Orleans.

You know like today, where you can take a boat from Port Canaveral, or Miami. You don't need to get on a boat in the Caribbean to sail in the Caribbean.

I think Monsters Inc. sounds like a horrible idea and this reasoning that CGI is better than fully realized animatronic characters sounds like just a crutch. Just like the crutch of the 5th dimension being removed from DCA's ToT for purely artistic reasons. I'll take a clunky 5th dimension room anyday over a miserable, hospital hallway inspired load and unload.

Not that Timekeeper needed to keep operating but this project sounds really bad. They should have put the really nice DCA Monster's Inc. dark ride into MGM.

I'm sure the answer is probably no, but it would be nice to see them increase the exposure of the show space from the Peoplemover. When you went by the exterior windows of Timekeeper's entry queue it was always hard to see in. I would hope they made it more prevelant from the TTA.

It would again allow Disney to stand out against it's competition. That magical intangible.

Just depending on video will I think accelerate the lifespan of this show. I wouldn't know, but someone on another thread described the released art akin to going into Chuck E Cheese. I wouldn't go that far, but seriously, Roz at DCA is the big hit, the highlight, why not make the best show possible and make the M.C. an AA, like Timekeeper? Is it just money and them not wanting the best show possible. Is it purely creative?

I am seriously asking, not being rhetorical.

As for AA's, many of the 'powers' at WDI feel they are passe (and expensive). You know the whole lame argument from Gamecubes and ipods and the Internet etc ... so no one wants 20 minute immersive attractions, right? Yeah, that's why folks line up for Pirates and Mansion etc ... because they want to sit in a theater and interact with a character.

Please. Someone ... buy a clue.
