That's one of the reasons I'll miss it. Of course if they do a good job with the indoor rollercoaster, I'll forgive them for ruining the dark ride. ORDDU: Snow White's Scary Adventures, as it is now, may not be the most thrilling attraction at the Kingdom, but it deserves more love and respect than some ducklings, here, are giving it. It was the ONLY attraction in the whole park that catered to Princess lovers. It amuses me whenever I hear others bashing the wonderful princesses that Disney has given us because when you stop to think about it, Snow White's attraction is really the only one there ever was that focused on a Disney Princess. But certain immature reactions were expressed to get others to jump on the 'let's hate the princesses' band wagon and facts were mis-stated and it all turned out to be much ado about nothing. ORWEN: Fairytales have always been the backbone of Disney's success in terms of movies and I wouldn't mind if each one was represented with a dark ride. I'm proud to admit I love the Disney fairytales AND the Disney Princesses!!!

Supposedly the current Snow White attraction is only meant to be a temporary meet and greet for the princesses. But as others have pointed out, Disney's version of temporary can be something quite different from what you'd expect.

Now with the new plans unveiled, I really like the new Seven Dwarf coaster concept. But it's WHERE they're putting the princesses that's really bothering me by destroying a classic dark ride. There has to be room elsewhere in Fantasyland for the Princesses to meet their little fans without removing a ride. I want to see MORE rides in the Magic Kingdom, not keeping the same number constant.

ORWEN: I've seen the same sort of thing happening among haters of Winnie the Pooh and the Toy Story characters. Sometimes the haters of these characters come across as though they're so obsessed with their hatred that it makes them look almost evil. The characters were created to bring joy and happiness into the world--not to inspire hate. I just don't understand anybody who'd want to bash the characters the way some do. And what "turned out to be much ado about nothing"? You mean because they're adding the mine train the uproar turned out to be overstated? Fans have the right to express boredom with the princesses. Just because you luv the characters and buy into the Disney brand hook, line, and sinker doesn't mean that someone else who dislikes the abundant characterization of the parks necessarily possesses some kind of sexist mentality. >> ORGOCH: As fer addressin' somethin' ta somebody with mult'ple personal'ties, I suggest ya git in touch with Dr. Phil. What I hate is pimping toons all the time, everywhere. Disney used to be about soooooo much more than synergistic pushing of toon IPR left, right and centre. It makes me sick. Of course I love it when my little Jessica has a huge grin on her face meeting her fav princesses, just like Jack Skellington was a bit of a thrill for me. And I will never forget the first time my wife met Mickey. But, I have always viewed the characters in the same way as Toony painted, a cherry on top. something you happen upon. Having designated meet and greets totally takes the magic out of it for me. And turfing out an attraction space is even more depressing. Like I said, turn the Village House into character dining, create an accessable area at Skyway, build in a Fantasia Garden area with gazebos, something. But turfing out a dark ride space for this is the disappointing part, and I would feel that way about any meet and greet, even if it were Walt Disney himself on Display.

As to the area around the skyway station, I hope they don't do anything there. That area is always a bottleneck, even during the offseason. Imagine if they did put some kind of Meet 'n Greet there. It would be a nighmare trying to get into Liberty Square.

Whether or not those elements make it to the final product remains to be seen but if it does that could be an enjoyable area to roam even if you don't care for Princesses.

But it is the variety of Disney that I always adored. Lots of things in small pockets. Sure, we could, and have been to real locations (Adventureland - Hawaii, Far East, Middle East,Africa; Frontierland - the wild west - Virginia City, 49er trail, Monument Valley, Bryce Canyon etc.; Fantasyland - I live in Europe; Tomorrow - ok the Channel Tunnel and some tech work I used to do). But not all in one day, it does not offer the idealised family environment Disney used to. But this year, we are doing a mixed trip in one vacation - starting in Northern France with a trip down to our villa at DLP for a week (we will take a day out to go into Paris), then a trip through the Chapagne region through Metz to Strasbourg; then into Germany to Europa park for three nights (staying in a Roman collosium themed hotel in the Black Forest - the park is like a cross between Epcot and Busch Gardens). Then a trip through the Black Forest via Frieberg to Heidelberg, then up the Rhine for a few days to Cologne, spending a night in the Ling Bao Chinese Hotel at Phantasialand and then going home via either Brussels or Brugge in Belgium. But I would trade it all for an early 80's Disneyland experience.
