Why? How the hell is that gonna change your time at Disney? Haha

It's not like they run around in the parks throwing tomatoes at people in line for Meet and Greets.

Why do you always jump right to the extreme position with your posts? Are you incapable of seeing shades of gray? I don't think anyone on here has claimed that Disney should be princess-less. All we have said is that we don't want to see an actual ride-through attraction removed for a meet-and-greet. How does that make me a "spiteful fanboi"?

It's great how you just place people all under one label with that patented superiority and vitriol you use as prose. Just discuss.

The issue isn't the MG itself, it's the location. Don't waste ride space, and infrastructure, and capacity on a meet and greet. It doesn't warrant it.

I understand not wanting it to take up ride space, but this part just isn't true, EE.

The lines the princesses get DO warrant a permanent place and structure for their meet and greets.

Stop turning a family oriented MK into a "Princesses" park!. Since Disney is not willing to spend money on upgrades that attract older children and men they will milk the Princess angle for all it's worth to keep the weakening revenue stream running.

I admit that I'm not a big fan of the Meet & Greet concept, as I always enjoyed the characters more when they roamed freely around the park and you just "happened" upon them. But it seems that the crowds dictate otherwise today and seem to really enjoy this way to meet with the characters rather than just "bumping" into them in the park. My point is, instead of destroying a dark ride (or at least the possibility of a replacement or upgrade for the current one) for the new Meet&Greet, can't they find some other areas for them to accomodate this? Land certainly shouldn't be an issue at WDW.

The princesses are certainly welcome to be in Fantasyland in my book, just not where they intend to put them.

And also for the record, I wasn't very thrilled with the original plans of only having meet&greets in the new expansion. Yet, I loved the concept of the village theme for the characters. I think its fine if those themed M&G areas that are now scrapped would be more a part of this overall new project in a similar, but more thematic approach. But instead of being the center and main focus of the new area as once proposed, they could be added where they could fit within the land as proposed today with the Mine Train coaster, more as "icing" to a much more appealing "cake" that now has a little more substance. In other words, spread the Princess cottages and such out throughout Fantasyland as part of the overall theming.

I like that a Belle M&G will be a part of the new Be Our Guest area. I also like that kids can meet Ariel near the new Little Mermaid area. I would imagine that a Snow White M&G might be part of the new Seven Dwarf mine train. These M&G's are all welcome! They just need to do more of this without needlessly ripping out a dark ride so that the other princesses have a place to hang out.

Given what I've seen of the new expansion, I wouldn't mind seeing a few other additions as part of this whole project:

    - Use or remove the Skyway station for the Cinderella Chateau.
    - On the back side between the Little Mermaid and the Mine Train, add the Aurora cottage
    - Near the Mad Tea Party, add an Alice in Wonderland garden M&G.
-I'm sure SOMEWHERE they could squeeze in a Rapunzel M&G without tearing anything out. Why not the old area for "Story Time with Belle" near Winnie the Pooh?

So who is left then to occupy the old dark ride area?? Not many as most of the Princesses and other characters are accounted for. The theming adds to the charm of the area, and the old SWSA dark ride area is kept for either a refurbished SWSA, or a completely new dark ride.

Doing this A)increases your ride and attraction capacity and B) spreads the crowds a bit more evenly through Fantasyland. Putting all the princesses in one basket as it were will only make the crowds in that section all the more frustrating.

I mean Tom Sawyer Island isn't really a ride, other than the raft to get there.

Everything else is just "BONUS".

Yeah, but using ride space to do it? Foolishness.

Only if we can hold the world premiere in the Peter Pan restroom with a bunch of F-list celebrities and Disney execs. We can take turns dunking their heads in the toilets.

Do you just like to argue for the sake of arguing? No one has said anything about not liking non-ride attractions. We just don't want to see an ride, that's already there, be replaced by a meet-and-greet. Why is this so hard to understand?

    Seriously?

You claim to think that everyone should be more "open minded", but saying this pretty much seals the deal that you are just trying to illicit a reaction.

Why kill off real attractions, based in creative entertainment?

And no, I don't think that MGs are that. Yeah, they are needed, but not as much as the other types of attractions.
