But this restaurant isn't billed as an "Indian" restaurant; it's an African restaurant featuring Indian flavors. And in Africa, we had beef at almost every meal - though what type of meat it was falls within the "Don't ask, don't tell" category. So maybe, just maybe, this restaurant is more authentic than Scott is giving it credit for being.

It's kind of like the different cultures that intermingle in Canada. You have both stong French, and strong British, and strong American Indian populations within Canada. Each with it's own distinctive cultural difference. Yet they are all still Canadians.

Same here in the States. Those Yankees up North have their own traditional things that they cook, much differently from traditional meals in the South. They talk funny too!

    ~Can I get fries with that?~

    Yes they do.

I am not a big fan of Indian food, but at least it's something different from a cold cheesburger or a mediocre pizza.

I'm currious how the reviews come across. Very few people here at LP give indepth food reviews, unless Doobie post something.

1/2 cup dry white wine (or sherry cooking wine)
    1/2 cup orange juice
    2 tablespoons lime juice
3 tablespoons melted coconut oil or butter
    3/4 teaspoon curry powder
    4 bananas peeled

Mix everything except bananas. Lay whole peeled bananas side by side in a baking dish. Pour on combined mixture. Bake 300 degrees for 30 minutes, basting bananas frequently.

When we were on our honeymoon, there was a dinner choice that was all curried stuff, but it was for 2. Knowing I'd love it, my husband agreed, that was the last time he ever had curry, May 1964. He accused me of trying to kill him, but he also said that when we got off Star Tours, off Soarin' and off Dinosaur!

Disney World "Indian" restaurant where you can wash down your New York Strip with a cool glass of Tinker Bell and Friends Punch.

But it is actually an impressive menu with a nice selection of what you'd expect at an American Indian restaurant. There's nothing wrong with offering a steak or burger for people who really, really don't like to try new things. No reason to punish the rest of their party by giving that stubborn meat and potatoes eater no options.

I can't agree that the prices seem reasonable, though. Typical of a Disney sit down restaurant. But once I've paid $17.99 for tandoori chicken, I don't know about having to shell out another $8.99 for naan and $3.29 for mystery mush - I mean lentil puree.

Except for the prices and the whole being on the wrong side of the continent, it sounds really good to me. The assumption that the spices are toned down for American tourists in no way detracts, in my opinion.

Disney has really given in to this, all the while touting their cuisines as well as healthy eating.

You see dumbed down dining plus the most morbidly obese people you'll ever see in one place at WDW and it's not hard to connect the dots.
