It's already like that to an extent. Pay careful attention next time you see a meet and greet, and you'll see that the characters never initiate the contact. They might stand there with their arms out waiting for a hug, or with a hand extended for a handshake or high-five, but the guest must touch them first.

I agree that if the result of this is less of an emphasis on meet and greets, I would be fine with that. They can still have them, as they've been doing for decades, but it seems that they've really gotten out of hand in the last 5-7 years.

Probably didn't happen, but possible. But what I totally reject is that this in any way caused the litany of medical and psychological problems listed in the lawsuit. Nope, this was just a nuisance suit, and Disney found it cheaper to pay a bit than to continue the suit,

I agree with that possibility but in the long haul a lot of "nuisance suits" cost as much, if not more than a one time,"you lose" lawsuit. That kind of precedent should help stem the flow of the "nuisance" ones.

I'm not a lawyer nor would I even consider taking legal action over imaginary situations, but it would make sense that if people are hiring lawyers in an attempt to make money, and they don't, I think the motivations would become much less attractive. Even if they were able to settle for whatever it is going to cost for the lawyer, and then made it public, it would stifle the incentive. Losing is note worthy as much as winning...just has a different target.

I agree. I was just kissing up to him so I can get a big discount on one of his tours.

What a let down you will have if no one gropes you at the parks.... ;)

    Rimshot

On that note ... aren't most "rubberheads" women?

Probably you are recalling the infamous Three Little Pigs case. (This is not a joke.) A heavyset woman claimed that the TLP rushed up to her, crying "Mommy! Mommy!" and groped her. The costumes were brought into court, and it was revealed that the arms of the pigs were not functional-- they simply hung limply at the sides. (This was an earlier costume design than the one in current use.)

I would be surprised if Disney admitted any fault in the settlement of this case, They have always vigorously pursued every case, especially nuisance suits. They do this precisely because they know they are a high profile target for just this sort of thing. Think twice before filing suit against the Mouse!
