He did think the star field looked better, and obviously noticed the queue and load area changes. But there was nothing to really feel like new life was breathed into the old girl. He also was not impressed with the ride photo. He rode with my Mom and a friend. When the picture was displayed on the screen, it was only my Mom and friend. The previous photo showed only his leg. When they went to the area where you could buy (which he said was very disorganized, no one knew where to line up) they were able to adjust the photo so all three of them were in it. But he said, he was totally out of proportion to my Mom and friend, and why would anyone want to buy a photo like that.

If the star field is done right it really adds to the effect. I also hope that the ride que will still be darkly lit as that seems to add to the fantasy

Originally Posted By dshyates "thats wierd that they didn't add on board soundtrack" Originally the plan WAS to add on board audio. But to do that they were going to have to relace the entire track because of weight issues. The original plan was to replce the entire track with a wider track to accomadate a vehicle that sat 2 across AND include on board audio. But the Budgeteers got involved and all that was replaced was the incorrectly banked turns that resulted in stress fractures. Remember that the original Space Mt. was not designed with the help of advanced computers so the banking of the corners was more guess work than science. They corrected this banking issue resulting in a slightly smoother ride and less wear and tear on the ride system. But the end result isn't really going to be noticed by the casual tourist.
