Part of that is because there are now stricter rules that have to be followed when collecting fish, now that in the past.

There is many more protections in place to protect coral reafs and their fish populations.

ANy time that Epcot plans collect or add more fish to the main environment, a detail plan for what species they intend to get and how it will effect the wild pupulation must be subitted and approved by the Feds.

I find this a little hard to believe. Especially when you consider that Atlanta just built the largest Aquirium in the world. And nearby Chattanogga, TN doubled the size of their Aquirium. People were donating their fish to the Aquiruim. I know the Atlanta Aquirium was raising their own fish for display.

I thought the main tank in the Living Seas Pavallion looked pitiful. Remember when Disney use to advertise their main tank as having the largest collection of exotic fish in the world. I seem to remember at least one Disney promo video where they interviewed the dad from one family, that said he always enjoyed scuba diving in the Living Seas because it was the only place in the world where he could scuba dive with all those different fish at the same time. Now that main tank looks like just a big tank full of water with a few fish in it.

Do something about that Sea Monkey tank! Just add fish.

Interesting to note, the pavillion is now called "The Seas with Nemo and Friends" as stated on the new sign, and the "living" name has been retired apparently.

I don't believe it for a second. It's one of those things that sounds ... well, fishy ... unless you happen to be a gullible CM or guest.

Much like when Disney removed parrots and other birds from the CBR, Poly and GF resorts and Epcot, I'm quite sure this was another choice based on the bottom line.

I walked thru my local Rainforest Cafe this afternoon and they don't seem to have any trouble keeping their tanks very well populated with a wide variety ... and, yes, I do realize it's a relatively tiny environment compared to LS, but that's not the point.

But, hey, maybe they'll use the same line when they only have a pair of giraffes, one zebra and an old elephant on the safari at DAK!

    I love corporate spin.

I just got back from Disneyland and was completely demoralized by how gaudy and tacky New Orleans Square has become. Too much pirates and that's not even taking into consideration the possible encroachment of Adventureland onto TSI which I only found out about upon my return. Between a crass New Orleans Square, a questionable POTC redo and the fact that I still, in Fall of '06, can't stomach the cheapness that DCA's ToT projects, I am really excited to see this in a few weeks.

I think if other questionable moves had not or were not going to be made like Depp & Co., Monsters, Stitch, etc. no one would have a beef with the TLS overlay. I agree with you and also think it is a great thing and shouldn't be lumped into the other shoddy, overly-synergistic plans. My buddy who just rode the new Nemo ride said it would make Claude Coats grin. That's a pretty strong endorsement in my eyes.

Also got to ride yesterday, Wednesday Oct 11th, when it was opened for CM previews.

Cute ride and the kids will love it!

Funny... this is the same line my CM friends have been saying all along. Obviously cute but nothing spectacular for what it seems... since this statement tends to indicate something that is babyish and not something that most adults would care to ride often...
Oh well... I hope to have my chance to ride tomorrow.

Can't say that I disagree with that assessment, but I do not see that as a truly bad thing. Would I ride it again? Yes. I did so three times last week. Would I wait on a long line to do so ... considering that I won't have small children with me ... no.

Did I like the ride? Absoutely!

Which is a hallmark of the original Future World attractions. If anything 20 mins. is to the long side in comparison.

I can't wait to get down there and check this ride out. It really is nice to see WDI and Disney make a good move.
