I am baffled as to why you would read that into what was said. The point is that it is not necessary to know the history and importance of the Tiki Room, that the vast majority of people enjoy it because it's a nice little show.

But it was in direct response to this statement in post #48: >>Remember, 102% of guests visiting WDW do not know the history and importance of the Tropical Serenade. They just appreciate the fact that it's a nice little show.

Especially West Coasters I knew what the Tiki Room WAS and it's history at the tender age of......NINE. Thank you original Disney Channel and WDW souvenier hardcover books.

There does seem to be a group of Disney fans out there that act as though they are the authority not only on how Disney was but on what Disney should be. Some of them seem to have viewpoints that are tragically stuck in 1995, and their snobbishness is embarrassing. Disney never will be what it was during Walt's time or the period shortly after his death. It really is time for these folks to adjust or move on to another obsession.

"Offensive" because, although I'm not a person who offends all that easily, I found it so. Therefore it is, at least offensive to one person - me. If it is not offensive to you that's fine I have no problem with it whatsoever. I was speaking for myself. "Untrue" because I've never been a regular DISNEYLAND visitor but I can appreciate it. Therefore it is an incorrect statement.
