Or perhaps it would be a two level kitchen allowing for a publicly accessible (and expensive) dining room on the first floor - which is what the OP suggested to begin with. It would seem strange to have such a centrally prominent and showey building be essentially "off limits" to regular guests. And I'm thinking Staggs wouldn't want to discuss it publicly if it weren't something that was available to the public.

In this youtube video describing Mater's ride ... It's all suppose to revolve around one basic idea - And that is a "Square Dance" You know - do-si-do, clap your hands, lets do the hoedown, join in on the JAMBOREE, ...etc.

    <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIYR0FFdVFY" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...R0FFdVFY</a>

As the new ride is described - It's 22 carriages (probably 2 people each for a total of 44) revolving around Mater singing a Square Dance. And as for the definition for the word Jamboree: A party, celebration, or other gathering where there is a large number of people and a lot of excitement, fun, and enjoyment.

Jamboree was a perfect word to describe this ride with a mechanism that swings from one platform in one direction, to another platform in the opposite direction, etc .. much like the way a Square Dance works.

Jamboree is much more fitting of a word. Much like Snow White's Scary ADVENTURE, Pinnochio's Daring JOURNEY, Peter Pan's FLIGHT. Mad Tea PARTY, etc.

When "spin" was introduced for both Rogger Rabbit, and Buzz Lightyear (both indoor attractions) I can see the necessity to include "spin" as both rides have the capability to spin. First timers don't know they can spin, so the title on the marquee and pocket guides helps to describe the full ride.

But Mater will be outdoors .. so, it will be pretty clear what it is.

The only rational I can come up with, is WDI is second guessing park guests as stupid .... and some won't understand "Jamboree". Hence - Disney themselves propagating - The dumbing down of America!

Do WDI think people are so stupid, that people won't understand the word Jamboree? And have to give it the generic title of "Spin"?

Like the generic title the land is being given - CARS_LAND.

Generic terms seem to be trumping over words that were more inventive and more creative.

    Good one Disney!!

Next ..... When people enter DCA ... the first thing they are going to be drawn to (iconic "weenie") .. is going to be the Carthay Circle Theater.

But as they approach it .. in the first minutes they are in the park, they discover it's closed off to the general public .. and for EXCLUSIVE VIPs only!

Is the Main Street DLRR Station a Members Only place? Was the Moonliner Rocket in Tomorrowland (1955-1966) a Members Only establishment? Is Sleeping Beauty Castle's interior a Members Only establishment? Matterhorn? And other large scale iconic features in Disneyland?

At least Club 33 does not take over a prominent spot away from needed common places for us little people - the regular public. Cafe Orleans sits below Club 33, and other shops that are open to the general public.

It's important that the few iconic "weenies" DCA has .. that are in striking, obvious, stick-out-like-thumb view ... be devoted as WELCOMING points to ALL visitors AKA Walt's own words:

"To all who enter this place, WELCOME...."

It's not much of a welcome when the largest building in the Main Entry Plaza for DCA .. is closed off to all you poor little park attendants ... when your $74 dollar ticket was not good enough to get you into what Carthay Circle may have had to offer!

They can stick their new "Club 33" for DCA in some corner that is not in a prominent public space, like the Carthay Circle Theater will.

AKA - Club 33 in New Orleans Square.

if they were to make this a restuarant with club 33 members in mind why don't they have a hidden upstairs version like at disneyland? or heck put it downtown disney!

If they sell 2,000 of these things, that's $27.5 million dollars - in the first year alone. And 2,000 is probably a conservative number. The question is how many of these members are going to be 'on property' on any given day, and how much time are they going to want to spend in this glorified lounge? And if it's anything like Club 33 (only in DCA instead of DL) the "members" still have to pay for dinner and drinks - parking is probably free. People with the means and where-withall to frivolouly fritter away this kind of money are not likely to be the sort that hang out in the parks all the time. There's lots of things they can do and places they can be.

Disney is going to want to take the money - they'd be crazy not to. So yes, I see this happening. And yes, I agree that the Carthay Circle is designed as a 'wienie' and should be accessible to day guests, which is where Staggs' comment about a high-end restaurant leads me to think that there will be a dining room open to the public but separate from the VIP club.
