I only believe it is perceived to be more radically right now because there are more outspoken rightwingers then there has ever been in the party. I can't think of any mainstream conservative that has a different voice from a conservative of 50 years ago, if you allow for the changing times in America. There is a larger gap now between the party's because of the horrible fiscal management of the previous administration that we failed to rein in. Plus the new age of Socialisim that is being administered now.

Give me a lead on where to go. I would suggest ideology, not big business guided Walt's political philosophy. I was a registered Democrat when I was 21. That was back in the days you had to be 21 to vote. It got to where I no longer believed in the direction nor ideology of the Democratic Party. I found myself aligned with the Republicans on most, but not all issues. That's still the case now. Social standing or staus, geographical location, occupation, religion, education, wealth, culture, influence by family or friends has absolutely nothing to do with this. It's all about ideaolgy, and which direction I feel is best for my Country.

I'll try to dig up what they actually say. They believe in free enterprise, but with safeguard restraints against monopolistic endeavors with oversight by the Government. Not a no holds barredd anything goes for Big Business attitude. They do not want Government interfering in the day to day life of the small business man while advancing the agenda of the few. >> That's why a judge can strike down Obama's ruling on deepwater drilling ... because he believes he (or his cronies in oil) are more powerful than the PREZ of the USA ... that's why BP's Brit Twit CEO can sit on Capitol Hill and lie and avoid questions and smugly look like he's more powerful than the body he is appearing before. << I'm not going to get into you with this right now for the obvious reason.
