Yeah, Disney can match IoA with something new. >>>Do u 2 sleep? <<< I just got 8 hours of the stuff. I LOVE Summer. Or rather, Night classes.

There is no property alive at this time that can out-draw HP, save for Star Wars. And unless they do a whole Star Wars land at DHS, they aren't going to shift the attention from WWoHP anytime soon.

If they make their own attraction, theme to the hilt, and promote it as well as Uni has with Potter, they have a contender. Don't think that just because all Disney does these days is franchise related , that's the only way to compete. Bullsh**. That's what got them into this mess. They have always (Until the past 10 years or so.) been able to create something NEW and draw people to it. They can do it again. And just because Uni bought out Harry Potter and used that, doesn't mean that Disney has to dredge up SW to compete as well. Synergy, is not the answer, Hokie....Originality and quality is. Dear God, I HATE synergy.

Now, the plan they had originally as the Potter fighter, with things spread across all the parks to open this/next year would have done the trick. You know I agree with the originality thing, but the drawing power compared to something like Potter just isn't there. And they wouldn't promote one ride as well as Uni does. You should know this. If it wasn't for working there, I would have had no clue TSMM was coming to DHS when it did.

Way to be hypocritical! ;-) I could also say that your love of HP blinds you from the fact that Disney continuously bested the competition with their brand of stories and creations. One attraction won't do it. You are right. But a land expansion, coupled with SEVERAL other things, might. You know perfectly what I am talking about so don't play dumb here. People come to see what Disney creates, in varying numbers, of course. FLE won't exactly pull in what Potter is doing, but it'll make a dent. Add a few other things with that, I think it WOULD make a dent. If WDW had gone ahead with a 40th Anniversary like they had wanted to do in 2006, or so, that would be real competition. What we are starting to see now, are perhaps the initial scrambles for them to get back on their feet. They wont admit that they are down, but I have a feeling we will start to see some new things. I don't know how right you are on the advertising...I know we might not like the content, but Nightastic promos are EVERYWHERE for the Summer. We know that THAT is happening, for sure. If Disney were to launch something like that, on the national scale, and with quality promotion, they'd be set.

A rant has all cap letters in it and says it hates something. My love for HP has nothing to do with it. I'm looking at it rationally. <<One attraction won't do it. You are right. An expanded land and one thing still isn't going to do the job, IMO. Especially in one park. <<I don't know how right you are on the advertising...I know we might not like the content, but Nightastic promos are EVERYWHERE for the Summer. They haven't in a long, long time. The only commercial I've seen with an attraction is the one from this year with TSMM in it, and that's 2 years after the fact.

You have your opinion, I have mine. You want rational, we need a 3rd party in here. >>> No, I know of one additional thing that may or may not happen. An expanded land and one thing still isn't going to do the job, IMO. Especially in one park. <<< I can think of 3 pending things for the MK that would make it a contender for HP. One we know of, FLE. The other two are pending behind the scenes. I can think of one thing for DHS- Star Tours- which could not contend on it's own, but with MK at it's best, it certainly isn't hurting. I can think of a few things for EPCOT, but knowing EPCOT's track record, we will have to wait for those. I can think of something huge for DAK, that should be half way constructed, now. However, it isn't. Like EPCOT, a crying shame. However, I think having one park with several new, "large" things, and having DHS support that with something already demanded by guests, is a pretty good way to compete with Uni.

I don't see anything happening at either of them for a long, long time.

Apparently if you offer non essentials not available at your local Wal-Mart, you can make a tidy little profit in Orlando. BTW, not sure if HobieSkipper's post got cut off, but coupons are being offered in EPCOT, too, and I presume the other two parks.

They're got a cash cow on their hands. And they'll eb getting money from me next week, along with friends' money. I can't tell you how many people are giving me money to buy stuff for them while I'm there. <<BTW, not sure if HobieSkipper's post got cut off, but coupons are being offered in EPCOT, too, and I presume the other two parks.>> I must have missed that. I figured they were in the other parks, but I only say the MK eateries.
