Except for the vocal percussionist... he's really among the worst I've heard. Needs TONS of practice. My own suggestion, find someone with more experience.

As for the rest of the group, they're absolutely wonderful! I always thought Le Feet sounded like a bunch of kids in Miller's Outpost clothes (Anchor Blue now) with no idea what any sense of coordinated rhythmic music should sound like, smashing on drums and making nothing more than chaotic noise.

I guess you could say that he looks roughly like that, yeah.

I've been into accapella music for years. I've heard some amazing vocal percussionists (Jeff Thatcher from Rockapella has to be the best, he does things with his voice that just aren't right). Also, the guy from The Blenders... forget his name off hand, really really good as well. (Had they not turned pop... that was annoying.)

has reversed themselves on their nightmare of a blunder from their opening week. Remember? The week that they decided that they would NOT ofer 2-park Annual Pass upgrades? When they *literally* told us that they didn't want too many people in the park because it would ruin the guest experience? And took back their offer of applying your day's admission to an upgrade on your AP? That was such a foolish move. They alienated a large number of their regular customers, including me and my family. Now we have 2-park passes. Now we will go more. They are somewhat right - this year will be different. They aren't telling us to STAY AWAY.

Back at Christmastime in 1998, we had our first family visit to Disneyland (had been there before long ago before kids, and to WDW a few times) and we stayed at the Disland Pacific Hotel on the 11th floor, overlooking the construction site. My son was so thrilled to watch the cranes and trucks and bulldozers! We looked a the diagrams and artist's conceptions, we looked at the models, and we thought, "This will be so neat! We can't wait!" We stayed at the DLH in 1999, and actually missed the view of the new park in the making. Then we stayed at DLP again in 2000, again overlooking our beloved construction site. Oh, it was so much fun! They were testing the Sun Wheel, and we were eye level with the top! It just looked so grand and exciting.. we really looked forward to going there. We bought a DCA t-shirt and some decals. We took pictures and showed our friends...

Imagine our dismay when we went to the park in February 2001... no AP upgrade. Broken rides. Not much there for a family to do for a whole day, for $160, in the rain. I WANTED to like it, we even went back in April to give it another chance, but we were not motivated to return again last year, even though we were in LA for 5 days in December.

I was there the month that Animal Kingdom first opened, too. I knew that parks sometimes need to mature and grow. But this was different... I don't know how to describe it... I felt betrayed. It was hipper and edgier than me and my family, but it was physically uncomfortable and sad at the same time. Some of the entertainment was a bit too obnoxious, too many places were closed, too many rides down. I could not imagine bringing the grandparents to this place for the day. I couldn't imagine bringing a toddler or baby here. It has a long way to go to be a good family park. I wanted to like it... I still want to like it.

We will be there in 9 days... I sure hope things have improved. Our APs expire in April, and we have no plans to renew them unless things are *much* better. We will just go back to WDW, which we know is a good value for a family vacation.

And any way you slice it the Disneyland Resort is STILL, and always has been, a great value for a family vacation.

You know you don't have to like everything that Disney does. I absolutely HATE Downtown Disney in Florida. I think it's the single worst thing Disney has ever built.

If you don't like DCA, skip it and go to Disneyland. There are some really fun places to hang out and visit in L.A. and San Diego. Have a great trip!

Or maybe they just didn't like the place? Is that so hard to understand - or is it that you like it so much you just can't understand why anyone else wouldn't??

The acrobats in the Amphitheater are still there aren't they? They've gone through 3 different names, but it's the same group that's been there since the previews as far as I know.

I grow tired of reading comments like yours. All I said was I'll be interested in hearing how her trip will be compared to her previous ones. Going to a new theme park, there's bound to be "problems" and eventually changes. Maybe I should flip the question around on you? I can't see why people (not naming anyone) can get so emotional and adamant about a theme park.

I am not sure if the Wizard Acrobatics opened with the park. But, they may have. If we count the smallest entertainment venues, I guess we can mention the Grizzly Guide at the Challenge Trail.

I like how Anaheim's DTD is turning out. Just get bigger already. And add better shops.

You obviously don't work for Disney marketing. ;) No, I am the typical co-dependent enabler, making excuses for my beloved Disney as they make their mistakes, even when they abuse and disappoint me. ;) They have promised they will make it up to me and never do it again, if only I spend more time and money there. Once again, I give them another chance. (The idea that the guests just don't "get it" reminds me of the concept "she brought it on herself"... ick.)

I have every intention of visiting DCA, I am not skipping it at all. We will be there with about 20 other serious Disney fans. We will definitely do the park through and through over 5 days, take lots of pictures and tell all our friends about it. Besides, it sounds like just about every E-ticket ride at Disneyland will be closed next week.

As I said, Animal Kingdom was disappointing the first month it was open, too (the weather was perfect, and we didn't have to pay extra for admission) but it has grown to be a decent day-park over the years. I hope that DCA has gotten better. Heck, I just hope the rides are operating and the restaurants are open, and people are nice to my children.

I agree about DD in WDW, it is a pain to shop there. DD in Anaheim is much nicer. I had the same complaint about the lagoon at Paradise Pier - the long walk around felt unnecessary, and it was physically uncomfortable to get from point A to point B in the cold, dark rain. But I hear it will be sunny next week. :) It will be interesting to compare.

When you walk into Mediterranean Harbor and Mt. Prometheus rises up before you, while the DisneySea Transit Steamer Line toots past you will find yourself grinning ear from ear with all thoughts of sun wheels and mad mice receding from your minds.

    Trust me on that.

Hey, how did Animal Kingdom improve? By taking away the boat ride? By adding another area? Adding tons of shows that don't seem to fit? And a carnival?

    Just wondering is all.
