I have no problem Zeppelin being Zeppelin with Bonzo's son behind the kit, but I think that's a "special case". I disagree that Page/Plant make up the sound, Bonham was INTRUMENTAL in making that band sound the way they did. Absolutely instrumental. I think it's cool that when Page/Plant toured that's what they called it though... That's what the Who should do too, I think.

At least when my Dad played with them, Johnny Moore and Ben E King were in the line up. They are still playing, but I am sure most of the guys weren't even born when the original hits were written. Now it's more like the Harlem Globetrotters or Rocketts - a brand.

You can keep Stevie Nicks and Lindsay BuckingHAM. I'd rather still hear Peter Green and company. <sigh>

My fave was the their version of Green Manalishi , later covered by Judas Priest - but Mac's was far far better ! also agree in Airplane - Starship -- Airplane my fave American band ever...perfect conbination of folk / rock / blues / acid and revolution -- I felt they were never the same after they canned Spencer Dryden -- but were still really good until the abomnination that was Starship emerged. Now,caveat here: The first Jefferson Starship might have been the best grouping ever- taking original JA and adding Stephen Stills / David Crosby / David Freiberg / Jerry Garcia etc. for one of my top ten albums of all time : Blows Against the Empire 1970 !

My uncle played with the Billy Vaughn Orchestra and his son ( my cousin ) was a founding member of Classics IV ( Spooky ) - that's as close as I came to the music scene that I really enjoy.

Have you ever seen any Lego Dr. Who kits in the UK ?
