Yes, of course. Who knows, though. EO should get the boot "soon"...

I don't understand how this claim is made when things like CBJ, AA, and HoP pull their own.

Even CoP, from time to time, plays to good crowds and it's the most dated of the bunch.

There are a whole slew of first time visitors that end up seeing these attractions and liking them along the way. While most go only to rides, there's a large group that DO get side tracked by these smaller attractions.

We are coming to a point where there are so many guests, because of so many hotel rooms, that pretty much everything garners some sort of ridership.

Granted, there are still huge losses in things like JII, or SGE, but with a "air" of being new to it, I think the Tiki Room will be just fine.

Maybe some (most?) of those people are going to the shows not knowing what to expect? You know the guest mentality: "Oh, there's a line. Dunno what it's for but let's go join." I like AA shows, but I also think most of them could be greatly improved with new animatronics, better upkeep, etc.

I think some promotion could really improve attendance at the WDW Tiki Room. In my experience it suffers from its location. When I took my fellow travelers to the Tiki Room in the past, they were always surprised that there was an attraction at all. None had noticed it despite walking past it a few times before. The entrance is kind of hidden behind the carpet ride and there are so many fronts all along the walkway in Adventureland which are empty that you start to get used to it and don't expect anything to be there. Of course neither the emptiness nor the carpets will change, but some more attention, maybe even being printed on the guide maps could really help?

Great observation. The Tiki Room in Disneyland was languishing behind a wall. Originally this was to ensure that guests couldn't watch the pre-show until they had first given up their ticket.

Worse, the tall tower that heralded the attraction was allowed to deteriorate so badly that it finally collapsed in a Santa Ana wind and was never replaced. All that, combined with the general air of neglect caused people to walk right past the entrance on their way to Indy and the Jungle Cruise.

Smartest move of the refurb was the removal of the wall in favor of a more open fence, and the placement of colorful floral arrangements and brightly blazing tiki torches on the roof. Incredibly, there were some guests who thought a new attraction had been added at the entrance to Adventureland!

Yep. That and they see the sign/building and get interested.

And I agree. They could use some love.

If by pull their own, you mean play to seats that are a quarter full, then yes, they pull their own.

Agreed, Carpets gotta go, and there needs to be more aesthetics that make the Tiki Room more apparent.

    Barker Bird, for one...

During busy times of the year, they at least play to half full audiences.

    Only CoP has problems.

When I was in DL during December 2009 the Tiki room was packed to capacity. Of course the LP mini-meet being held there perhaps had something to do with that... ;-)

They are a dying breed EE. I really don't think the majority of younger folks care that much about them anymore. There just isn't a novelty to AA's like when they were first designed.

You're ever the optomist when it comes to the classics EE.

A nice philosophy. That's my kind of approach to the parks also. Unfortunately I would guess that the majority of visitors, especially new visitors are in commando mode.

The first few years they saw a pretty nice upsurge. It's worn off as time's gone on.

I certainly don't think a slew of new AA shows would be smart, but I most assuredly think that the current shows could exist., be updated, and still pull in their numbers. I mean, look at IASW. That's outdated as all hell, but it's considered art. The same can be done with these shows.
