I've heard that if the steam effect stops working during the day it will not be fixed until after closing. They do not have a person standing by to fix it every time it goes down. I don't know what that might involve, but if it means shutting down the ride to have it fixed, it probably isn't worth it. The mist/fog in the mountain has been purposely turned off for a while now. I'm still hearing that a replacement effect is being developed since the water/mist interfered with the sensors on the track switch. Perhaps that should have been realized before everything was built that way, but sometimes that kind of stuff isn't apparent until everything is up and running, assuming that is the true reason for it not working.
