The first concert I ever attended was back when I was 13 or so. We were so excited to see the New Kids on the Block. Boy, do I feel old.

Earth, Wind & Fire sometime in the 90's, Paramount Theater, Oakland Another fantastic show in a smaller venue. No group of performers connects with their audience like EWF. Both times I've seen them , they seem absolutely happy to be there, loving the crowd, and give 110% on every song. You walk out of their shows just feeling better about life. Sting Sometime in the 90s, Oakland Arena Another great concert, and his band is unbelievable. U2 1988, Oakland Coliseum Great show in spite of a buzz-kill political "performance art" mistake that brought the show to a screeching halt. They got going again, though. Prince 2004, HP Pavilion, San Jose He was surprisingly funny and engaging. His energy level throughout the show was amazing. One of the few times I've felt like the tickets were too cheap compared to what you got -- even got his CD included with the ticket price.

I have a friend who has seen Jimi Hendrix twice, and another who has seen Muddy Waters. You wanna talk about envy? My daughter has a friend at school who has similar taste in music as me. I was giving him and his sister a ride home from school one day when I picked up my daughter... He was telling me that he visited SRV's memorial when their baseball team traveled to TX. [SRV is his musical hero] I shared that I was glad that I had the opportunity to see SRV in concert a few times before his death. He said "OMG that must have been great" [and it was] I imagine he felt the same way that I feel for never being able to see Jimi or Muddy play live. Speaking of Texans, didnt yu say you were gunna see Los Lonely Boys at Stubbs? That's something I'd be a bit jealous of
