I haven't been sick in about 2 years, so there really is no need...

What was she doing to you?? Anyway, I get the shot every year and also an influenza shot every few years. If I get the flu, I'm in the hospital so it's not worth the risk. I've never had a reaction until this year. I'm still itching at the injection site which is also slightly swollen and also have a hive-like bump. Not a good sign. *sigh*
Originally Posted By peeaanuut <<???? I thought the injection was subcutaneous. What was she doing to you??> Oh the 2 arent exactly related. When she was in class she was learning injections at the same time as blood draws. I just jumped in my head when I remembered her and her classes. She does the injections like a dart. Just 2 fingers and pop.

But we couldn't find one for our other 3 boys. In March- less than week before we left for DL, William came down with the flu, bringing it into the house. And then Nathan got it- there is still a slight chance of getting the flu even if you have the vaccine ( maybe a slightly different strain of flu from what the vaccine covers). But since Nathan had been vaccinated, his case of the flu was extremly light. The doctor started the entire family on tamiflu- it took William ( who had not had the shot) 4-5 days to get better on tamiflu but Nathan was better the next day. Made me a believer in the flu shot. Also made me a believer in tamiflu.
