We first did this theme in 2002 and now we've got TONS of ornaments. We also usually do red and white lights but I was lazy this year and only put red lights.

I used to hate colored lights and preferred white lights. (I really love the pearl lights.) Over the last 2 years I have started liking the colored lights again. They give a prettier glow than the white lights.

Each of my kids have their own trees. (Warner doesn't decorate his anymore.) We've done theme trees but theirs are more of a mish-mash of ornaments. I've got tons of different ornaments, homemade and store bought. I miss them sometimes but I still like our themed tree.

Our decorations are truly mis-matched and glorious, with heavy accents on purple. A few years ago I had a wild hair and made us have an all purple theme. I still have and love a lot of those ornaments, so our place is akimbo to life-long ornaments for both of us plus purple.
