That's more of an Arizona thing. We have joshua trees here. That pic makes it look like the place is going to be out of theme, and a mini version of toontown, only with cars. In other words: Cartoon based, out of theme, crap.

Why haven't they done something about him in all this time? "I am not going to complain about anything until they actually ANNOUNCE what they are doing." I think that PERHAPS maybe some of these leaked items are trial balloons. Or not. Who knows. But on the chance that they are, we should make known our feelings. If they say "we're going to add 50 new attractions, all based on Toy Story," and everyone just goes YAY! That'd give them a go ahead to just continue. If people don't, maybe that will give them pause to think. But I really doubt they listen to anyone online. "So let's complain about Monsters Inc" Out of theme. Cartoon. " ... or the MSEP replacing Eureka ... " Replaced a lovely parade with something that's older than most people who post here. "or the cheap Bug's Land." Cartoon, strictly for the under 4 set. OK, so I did what you wanted. I complained about them.

When a rumor comes across as being totally unacceptable, like the Mickey head on the Sunwheel, enough complaints early enough could derail the concept before any real money was wasted on it.

That doesnt look anything like the movie CARS (For one thing the cars would have goofy eyes and faces) I don't see any names on those buildings indicating charecters from the movie either. It looks more like a homage to California car culture to me. The other 2 pictures are from the actual Cars e-ticket so naturally that looks cartoony.

Actually, a few years ago, there was some ill-advised concept floated that was going to change the facades of Main Street from the 1910 era to the 1950 era. This is possibly a rework of that idea.
Originally Posted By dshyates Did you see the pic on the right where the guests are walking around? That doesnt look anything like the movie CARS The street scene looks incredibly like Radiator Springs. Flo's V8 Diner and all. And I will bet you $300 million dollars that the finished version in DCA will look 1000% more like the Radiator Springs from the movie than the one clip art pic on the internet. And Jonvn, you have saguaro cactus in socal. they are all over the southwest which socal is very much a part of. Radiator Springs is without a doubt is on Rt. 66 between Flagstaff, Az. and Barstow, Ca. On a global scale you really are mincing hairs here. But I will give you probably on the Az. side, by 40 miles or so. But 90% of the people who would have passed through "Radiator Springs" in the 50's would have been heading to Cali. PS. I use Cali because I'm lazy, not to be cool. (I am way too smart to be cool.) Cali= California (in general) SoCal= SoCal.

I do admit, however, not going further east than Palm Springs. We have joshua trees, in the upper desert anyway. I think the saguaro are more in the Arizona, New Mexico and Texas areas. But, hey, I'm not a botanist. I just have never seen them growing wild out there like I have joshua trees.

Cooler heads prevailed then, maybe we have reason to hope for the best this time too.

Sorry nope, that would be giving them more credit than they deserve . Guess we'll have to see.
