When they each came in, the company was in a somewhat rocky position (though much rockier for Eisner), and they helped turn that around. Then, after they had accomplished that, they seemed to overstay their welcome. Since Eisner had a lot more to fix with the company, it took longer for him to overstay his welcome; Iger really didn't have a ton to fix, and I've been tired of his antics for a couple years now. Much like Eisner's company expansion and micromanaging, Iger's focus on rehashing existing content has a place in a bigger picture, but it can't be the only way the company continues to make money. They were both very well intentioned, but needed another leader to balance them out and broaden their perspective; Eisner had Wells for a while, Iger only had himself the entire time. For what it's worth, I don't think Iger had much of a say in picking the Little Mermaid for DCA. If I had to guess, I would think that Carsland would be more up his alley. Either way, I'll take any chance I get to rag on him these days! : )
