As a moderate attraction and compared to its' peers, it's not that bad iiho. If you really consider it a MAJOR attraction and that's the microscope you are judging it under, than yes, it does totally suck.

And, in concept, it should be marketed this way. Though I feel many will find the ride to be underwhelming in relation to the marketed expectations. Toy Story Mania is so much better in so many ways. And it's simple yet well made and fits perfectly into the "cheesy" boardwalk theme of DCA. When I stand back and look at DCA, even with these new additions, it's still going to be the weakest of all Disney Parks. It's such a random hodge podge of architectural messiness. It really doesn't look pretty from high above Mickey's Sky Wheel. Even World of Color did the best they could by shoehorning that into the lagoon, though there are many very ugly viewing spots for WOC that Disney hands out fast passes for, while a superior show like Fantasmic was built be almost all angles.

Knew nothing about the q, ride, etc. Believe it or not, I would say, out of the 700,000 APs, over 690,000 read nothing about the attraction before going in. Now, may I ask, if you rode the ride, discuss your POV vs. my POV vs making this a game of "me, the person should have known, blah, blah, blah" Something you 100% do not have any idea of because you don't know me!

Even if I did read that the Q and the ride was weak, what is the point of what he said? If I read a movie was bad in advance of seeing the movie, that doesn't mean I will not like the movie (heck, I read tons of bad reviews for the latest Pirates...33% Rotten Tomatoes...knew that going in...and you know what....I LIKED it! Not loved it, but, it was fun!). So, let's please use Feret's review as a model for the way this conversation shall proceed. And, if any future posts focus on THE PERSON and NOT the ride, I will simply write the word "banana" which will mean, "Blah, blah, blah, meh, next post!"

I'm glad I'm not alone on the "Under the Sea" room being to brightly lit. As of Sunday the 30th ... I felt like I was more on a sound stage for an episode of HR Puffnstuff ... than an "under sea" experience. The "white" lighting in that room DEFINITELY needs to come down ... and needs some deep shades of blue to get the sense of being in the ocean!

I'd say it's on the size and scope of ATIS. Same ride length too. Not quite the "E" size of PotC, HM, Indy, it's a small world. But DEFINITELY larger than the pint-sized C Tickets in Fantasyland (Toad, Alice, Peter, Pinnochio, Snow W)

The major scene could use a lot more on the walls or something & I felt that with Ursula's scene as well *The plastic water fountains in Kiss the Girl *The weird CG, however I did like the opening one when you can see her above you...that was well done & felt right. The other two just came out weird for some reason... I loved the colors & I actually did like her hair. It did give the illususion it was underwater a bit. Maybe they should have added more texture to it so it gave it a little more. I think overall it was good, but it does have that feeling that it's missing something or not quite filled or completed all the way...

Heck, I spend far too much time on this Disney website and guess what...I read nothing about the ride whatsoever. In fact, I only jumped into this discussion because the title was interesting, and now I know a little. But 2 days ago...nada. And even if I had a sudden business trip to Anaheim come up for next month, chances are I wouldn't have bothered reading about it before riding, either. What is so astonishing to you about that?

There's no winner or loser, but through the discussion we can figure out what kinds of things make Disney attractions work and not work.
