How about the various nature trails? The gorilla and tiger exhibits? There is TONS of content at Animal Kingdom. Content doesn't have to mean "line up here and don't forget your lap-bar folks!". As for DCA being "nice", sure if you like a patchwork quilt with no cohesion. As far as "very strong" on content, I want some of what YOU'RE smoking. Perhaps it might be somewhat "strong" once all the new stuff opens, JUST perhaps, but generally speaking it was a patchwork quilt with a few decent attractions and a whole lot of cheap crap.

Will the general public, ESPECIALLY those who adore Ariel like this attraction? DEFINITELY! Don't believe me, then just sit at the exit and listen to all the girls gushing about how cute it all was. I did and it was loud and clear that the target demographic for this attraction love it.

So your opinion is that Little Mermaid is a "D" attraction. That's pretty respectable. <<So only if this was Disney Denmark Adventure would this building be relevant?>> It is you that said that the showbuilding wasn't relevant to the California theme. I just figured that you would only be happy if the park was themed to Denmark, since the story was written by Hans Christen Anderson. <<Not true at all. Haunted Mansion made of rugged metal. As is Mr. Toad's cars.>> The Doom Buggies are made of rugged fiberglass as is the seat on the 1955 Mr. Toad vehicles. <<The clamshell was a set up of the bigger picture problem with TLM ride.>> I don't get what you are saying here. <<Subjective. And, the centerpiece for the ride is the UNDER THE SEA sequence. A bit literal, huh?>> Oh I see, Ariel and Eric aren't part of the attraction. Gee, I don't think so. No, it's about a mermaid and a prince falling in love. <<And, I had a conversation with an imagineer standing outside the ride and they told me, the lighting we see in there is final for at least June 3>> Cool, then when I go next week, I will most likely see the properly adjusted light levels. Good to know. <<Yes, it is a weak effect. Many have agreed with this. If you like it, cool! But in the special effects world, it's cheesy B movie, not cool Spielberg film.>> Yeah, it is tough to apply CGI effects to physical space without a green screen. So the next best thing is to be realistic in the execution. <<Oh, Ok. So you havn't actually been on the ride.>> Yes, I believe that I have made that quite clear. It is just hard for me to understand why the company that invented "mixed media" is no longer supposed to put into practice any longer. << I came out here just to ride the ride. I have clearly described my love for TLM the movie. Did not want to hate this ride at all! Though, I wonder, where did you acquire this ability to detect this?>> <<The exterior of the building is nice, though, feels out of place. I mean, this is a park the celebrates CALIFORNIA! How does a Little Mermaid ride fit into this theme?>> You haven’t even set foot in the queue line and you have already made up your mind that the story of The Little Mermaid does not fit into the theme of Disney California Adventure. That’s how I “detect this.” <<then, the story degenerates into blandness.>> Well I guess I will see how bland or not the story is next week. <<Or, this smacks of someone who simply does not want to hear anything negative about Disney!>> Actually, it smacks of someone who just went in with an axe to grind. <<Bananas to you my friend!>> What? You can’t take a little heat regarding your opinions. I hope you can find a thicker peel for your banana.

If it were sitting in Anaheim the place of DCA everyone would be talking about how pretty it was but complaining about the short the list of substantial attractions. I personally love the place, but DCA's current lineup has a lot more appeal to me. "As far as "very strong" on content, I want some of what YOU'RE smoking." Really? Are you going to argue that Little Mermaid, Soarin, Tower of Terror, Animation, California Screamin', Toy Story Mania, WOC, and the upcoming Carsland top the half dozen attractions at AK? If so then perhaps you ought be passing around what ever it is you're on. "but generally speaking it was a patchwork quilt with a few decent attractions and a whole lot of cheap crap." It may have been, but the general consensus, even among those who disparaged the place when it opened, is that the park has turned into something worthy of being DL's next door neighbor.

To me, the DAK equivalent of tortillas and bread would be the Boneyard and character trails and that sort of stuff...throw away, cheap stuff just to add padding. For me, the animal exhibits are the HEART and SOUL of the park. Someone elsewhere mentioned that they just don't like zoos, and that's a valid opinion, but just because it doesn't appeal (Disney parks IN GENERAL don't appeal to large numbers of people) doesn't mean it isn't central to the theme. If tortillas and bread are central to the DCA theme, then the park sucks even worse than I've always thought!

I always have. It was my favorite attraction at DCA. I never said DCA had NOTHING. Soarin and Screamin are two definite highlights, though I do hate the exterior of Screamin and the whole Pier idea which is basically an easy way to build a VERY cheap and generic land. ***Tower of Terror*** A Disney classic. The Anaheim version is easily the weakest I've ever experienced, plus it hurt my back more than the other two I've been on. Not a good combo. ***Animation*** Not bad. Not as great as so many here seem to think (you have to really stretch to find something to be happy about with DCA, so I can't say as I blame them). Pretty much just a nice little walk through (you know, like tortillas and gorillas *sigh*). ***California Screamin'*** See above. ***Toy Story Mania*** Looks cheap, more synergy (that's all they seem to care about these days so I'm hardly shocked, and I'm VERY unhappy they're shoehorning it into gorgeous DisneySea), and nothing to do with California (as if that matters any more). ***WOC*** YAWN. One of the most boring Disney shows EVER. ***and the upcoming Carsland*** Looks promising, I'm sure I'd enjoy it. But still, where does that fit into the theme of the park, aside from within the convoluted minds of Disney megafans performing amazing feats of mental gymnastics in their desperation to justify it? ***top the half dozen attractions at AK*** Yeah. ***If so then perhaps you ought be passing around what ever it is you're on*** Nope. I'm right, and I have a clear comprehension of what makes for comprehensive, high level Disney quality compared to cheap crap. ***It may have been, but the general consensus, even among those who disparaged the place when it opened, is that the park has turned into something worthy of being DL's next door neighbor*** I don't care about general consensus, the general consensus of America these days is utterly insane anyway. But in any case, if that's the general consensus among Disney fans then I would suggest Disney fans have been successfully dumbed down by the company (good job, DisCo!). Let's see...we need to fix the park, what can we synergize? OH! CARS LAND! Throw in a cheap Little Mermaid ride, too! Great, now it's WONDERFUL! Bah. I live down the street from real Disney quality, I don't buy that DCA is that much better, patchwork-quilt wise it might even be worse now!

Well said. 100% agree. And, do not forget, the TREE OF LIFE is one of the greatest center pieces in all of the Disney Parks. I have sat and stared at that in awe for hours! No need to squabble X! Oh X, I so do not agree here! I love this attraction! Clever 3D, great game play, and I am a gamer! Oh no, X! You won't yell at me or call me a troll for disagreeing, with you, will you?? "***WOC*** YAWN. One of the most boring Disney shows EVER." Wait! We are back on track! I don't think it's the most boring ever, though it is highly overrated, and, it does have many crappy viewing areas. Anywhere close to Zephyr is bad, though those are tickets they hand out! Someone earlier mentioned watching from the back is fine. No way for me! I watched from TSMania one time, and, it's miserable! Cant see the projections, lasers, etc! This show was not built to be seen 360 degrees! Though there are a few decent moments in it, it's not even close in greatness to Fantasmic! "***and the upcoming Carsland*** Looks promising, I'm sure I'd enjoy it. But still, where does that fit into the theme of the park, aside from within the convoluted minds of Disney megafans performing amazing feats of mental gymnastics in their desperation to justify it?" Well, X...not to squabble with you, but, the first movie is based on the famous Route 66 and the many sites and sounds of this road that traveld through California. I actually get this theme. TLM ride, there is no justification to why this ride is in a theme park based on California. Definite show horned ride. Sad that WDW MK is getting a carbon copy of this mutt. "***If so then perhaps you ought be passing around what ever it is you're on*** Nope. I'm right, and I have a clear comprehension of what makes for comprehensive, high level Disney quality compared to cheap crap." X, you gonna take that personal jab? He sure likes to throw them at people! "***It may have been, but the general consensus, even among those who disparaged the place when it opened, is that the park has turned into something worthy of being DL's next door neighbor" Really? Which consensus is this? A poll of 50 Internet Community board chatters? "But in any case, if that's the general consensus among Disney fans then I would suggest Disney fans have been successfully dumbed down by the company (good job, DisCo!). Let's see...we need to fix the park, what can we synergize? OH! CARS LAND! Throw in a cheap Little Mermaid ride, too! Great, now it's WONDERFUL!" AMEN BROTHER X! And yes, DCA is a Gnat on the eyelash of Tokyo Disney Sea!

I'm looking forward to it, as it has a ride with a ride system like Test Track and Journey Into The Center of the Earth...though why do I feel we'll get the "dumbed down, mini version" of it, ala Tower of Terror?

Though it was cool. Got to see Mickey Mouse Review before it's demise! TLM Show at TDS - wow! That was amazing. In fact, the entire Little Mermaid Pavillion was beautiful. On the outside and the inside. Talk about atmosphere! In fact, I am wondering if the memory of what they did at TDS in the Mermaid building lingered in my brain while I viewed the factory outlet mall like environ of the TLM ride at DCA...

The sock puppet, though, is extremely fishy. I'm on a wait and see for this one. Not wanting to jump to conclusions (other "regular" folks have jumped in at inopportune times when the boards had been under attack before and gotten unfairly maligned just because the atmosphere on LP was one of being under siege), I'll just keep reading what's going on and see how it goes.
