Survivor is on in 10 minutes. I love that show.

So ran into SIL friend on bart (bay area rapid transit - kinda like a subway) both on the way there and back - Funny thing is SIL says bad things about this friend and especially her daughter whenever they are not around - She is a very sweet lady and is a single parent - they were meeting at the concert and had bought tix together - so on the way there she said hi to us, but didn't really talk to us...I am sure she called SIL and told her she saw us and SIL told her to avoid us!! We never saw them at the concert (thank goodness - I wouldn't have wanted DD snubbed). On the way back she passed us on the bart but only said hi again and a quick question about how DD liked the concert, but didn't really stop to hear what DD said and went into the next car (SIL was probably up there)...Well SIL uses different stop so we get off the bart at the same stop as her friend and she starts asking about our seats - so finally I asked her what section she was in (now remember they bought there tix withing the first minute they came available a few months ago) we were in the same section not only that we were two rows closer than them in seats 3/4 and they were 8/9/10/11... Funny since we bought ours today 7 hours before the start of the concert!!!

RT - I agree family shouldn't get a free pass - but SIL has always been a rat like that - I go months without any contact with her and then some family event (kids bday) comes up and things slowly start to mend - I try to never completely let my guard down, but things go well for a really long time - sometimes for over a year and then bam she's got things all screwed up again!! Funny thing is she always twists things over time to convince everyone that it's all me never her - funny thing is no one buys into her game!!!

So tired so read you all sometime tomorrow - we are off to the Oakland Zoo and a nice lunch at Black Angus (our favorite - next to sweet tomatoes- but we have a coupon!)

Glad concert was good. Boy you have a wacko SIL. She sounds like a moody teenager rather than an adult. It must make family meets really difficult and I think you are right to never let your guard totally down.

It sounds like your DD had a great time at the concert. I wonder how she guessed. I think it is funny that you had better tickets than everyone.

I haven't watched Survivor this time. I have watched almost every other season, but I was busy and missed the first couple episodes so then I never started.

Thanks for the info on the Disney Visa Mickey. We just got one about a month ago specifically for the Disney trip coming up. I have paid the deposit on it, but the rest of the trip isn't due until the first part of next year. I may go ahead and put it on there in December though if it gives me double points. That will help me get back to DL quicker. It is nice that you can take your time paying the trip off since it is interest free for 6 months.

I'm so glad the concert was fun and that your seats were so good, too! You deserve a good time (and better seats than SIL!) after the last 2 trips you've had.

Have a good time today, too!

I also wanted to ask how the Halloween stuff was in DL. What is California Screams like? Is it a movie or a skit?

TQ...thanks for the explanation on the Santa Sack. I thought the same as TX, that it was like our christmas stocking tradition. Hey...if your seasons are opposite from ours, then Christmas is in the summer, right? Ok, how does Santa operate his sleigh without snow? Does he still wear the big red suit?

villains...The end of your SIL story was insane. To jeopardize a child like that...it's just criminal. What goes through this woman's mind? You don't have to spend the holidays with her, do you?

So glad to hear about the concert. Gladder yet that you didn't run into SIL. She's put a damper on too much for you and DD lately. How did the little dickens figure out about the concert? I surprised DD with concert tickets to the Backstreet Boys when she was 5. I won the Fantasy Football league at work and made a good bit of money, so I thought I'd treat her to the show. I had to take a day off w**k, and we had to drive 275 miles, but it was probably one of the best times I ever had in my life. She didn't have a clue until DH dropped us off at the Arena and she saw the reader board. She couldn't read at the time, but she knew what the words "Backstreet Boys" looked like. She was crazy about them. It was a blast. 8 years later, and we still crank up their CD's and dance to their music, and talk about how much fun the concert was.

rt...we darn near wet ourselves watching Survivor last night. Jamie kept bragging how everyone underestimated her, and how she was going to show how smart she was...Baaaa Haaaa Haaaa!!! I thought James was gonna fall off his bench last night when she turned in the "idol." I was embarrassed for her myself.

TX...I believe you are correct...villains is supposed to get her money from HER today.

I can't start my story yet. If villains would have just quit being so nice, her stuff would have all been over by now and we could have moved on to me.

My story doesn't involve the re-payment of money, and it doesn't involve me being nice. It's about someone doing us wrong, and about me waiting for the opportunity to strike back...which I happily get on sunday. This upcomming event apparently has turned into a party of sorts...three of DH's friends plan on heading up to the house on sunday with lawn chairs and beer so they can watch.

I was hoping to have a relaxing weekend. DD has an orchestra concert tomorrow, and she has to be at the practice venue by 8:00. Geez...that means we gotta be up, dressed, and out the door by 6:45. I'm pretty proud of her...it's an "all-city" concert and you got to play by "invitation only." They have rehearsal until 1:00, and the concert is at 1:30. Then, we are supposed to go to a bonfire/pot luck party at DH's DD's. We will be pooped...but my tiredness will enhance my attitude for sunday.

What you all got planned for the weekend???

It sounds like I missed a good Survivor series. Darn.

I don't have anything planned this weekend. Since it is race weekend, we are pretty much locked up at home. We can venture out while the race is going on, but they still have a bunch of roads blocked off so it isn't easy to get around at all. I guess I will catch up on my housecleaning and laundry.

I gave up on both Surivior and Amazing Race years ago. I got tired of getting to know all of the new people. (I was probably just jealous of the $$$ they win.)
Villains, we saw Weird Al in concert a long time ago, too. He was so funny. I can't remember when I ever laughed so hard. We never got to see him a second time. I usually see an ad that he's coming to the area and it's the same day or something, where I can't change plans that fast.
Good luck getting up and out early tomorrow, MM. I just had a call for a j*b on Tues. am at 8am. My guys are off and I am excited about the possibility of sleeping later. So, I said I wasn't available! lol All the complaining I do about not having any j*bs or $$$ and what do I do when I get an offer? Say "No", so I can sleep later! lol (Hey, I need my beauty rest...to help make up for all of the sun damage.)

MM I will be waiting for your story. I hope sunday goes well for you. It is not a good thing when someone does you wrong as Villians knows all to well.
My weekend is supposed to be spent taking my DD to a hair party (for cheer) tomorrow and her competition on sunday. We have a problem now since I had to pick her up from school after she got sick in class. She seems to be doing fine now. She has eaten some toast and has no tummy ache. We will see how she is tomorrow. Flu shots are in order for next week as long as we are well to get them. I do not want this to happen at DL. I wonder if we can live in a bubble until our trip.HeHe.
