In my family, which may not be the same for everybody, we have santa sacks around the lounge room with the tree in it and the presents are unwrapped. The only wrapped ones are from other people. Also maybe just my family we as parents do not give the kides presents. That does not worry my kids as they are non-believers, but I have said that 'if you dno't believe you don't receive' so they all say they believe!
You guys have interesting things happening in your lives and not good. People bringing chairs out on to front lawn to watch paybacks, and SIL leaving nieces in road side toilets. Crazy.
Does this mean my new friends are whacko?
I certainly hope so as this fits in well with me!

"I'll take Austrailian terms for $200, Alex." (Let's see if our Aussie pal gets THAT one.) Actually, she probably will...she rarely seems to get tripped up by our verbage.

We'll let you ponder the "Austrailian terms for $200" reference for a day or so.

I think MMW got scared off and bailed out on us.

villains...you get your money from HER today? Mudslides on you??? If not, tink said she'd buy.

Austrailain terms for $200 alex - would be from a game show called Jeapordy here in the states - it's been on for about 20 years - you play buy picking a catagory and a price - then you are given the answer and you have to give the question - so
    the answer is lounge room
the correct response from the contestent would be What is the austrailian equivilant of a family room?

The game is usually played by regular folks but at different times each year they will have all college students and all high schoolers - you have to pass a test and then try out to play...One of my son's classmates won at teen jeapordy this past spring and went to the finals - but I forgot to watch to see if she won all the money - the teens play for a minimun amount - this girl is off at Stanford this year!!

I will email HER in the morning if I don't have the money by then....

We are slammed this weekend - DD has her final soccer game and DS11 has his last regular season game both on Saturday - then we are off to near Petaluma for the night as my sister is having her halloween party (BIL is a tugboat captain and has to work 7 days on and 7 off and this is off weekend) we will stay the night - then Sunday up early (thank goodness it's time to turn the clocks back on sunday) and back to home (about 90 min drive each way) to finish the soccer tourny from a few weeks ago that got rained out!! I doubt I will be back on line before sunday - so have a great weekend!!

Now we live in AZ and it was 90-something for Halloween day and there is just something wrong with that. Anyway, DH and I were supposed to go out because it is my birthday, but as usual, candy duty it was. I think this is the last year for candy. Next year I am leaving it in a bowl with a note to just take one piece and go to a movie. After all, it is my BIRTHDAY, don't cha know?

Then I got sick and had to take a day off of work. They all teased me that it was too much BDay cake. Not even close.

Then there was the usual Friday running around and I just did not have a chance to catch up here.

Villians, I am assuming that there was no money forthcoming from HER? Shame on her.

MM, I can't wait to hear about the drama unfolding with HIM.

I never have this kind of drama. I lead such a really boring life. lol

So, now I have to w**k today and tomorrow and all the rest of the week.

She only gave me a money order for $300 (the max it could be made out for). SO HER response was she already gave me $350 out of $550 and I can't just demand more money and she would have the other $250 on monday. I guess she didn't think I would be smart enough to keep all the original emails - But suprise I did so I resent it - so we will see what happens next...

I wish MM would post from home so we knew what was up for tomorrow.

I am home tonight because my kids were brats and decided they didn't want to stay the night at my sisters and go to her Halloween Party (90 min each way)- So we are home and my house is being cleaned (especially their rooms) instead of going to the party!! Next time they will go with the original plan...

I wish MM had filled us in on the BEFORE details, don't you? I think she's going to have to spend the day on LP just catching us up on everything. She's going to have to miss w**k.

TQ, I know what you mean about trying to fill the Santa sack, even though we don't have a Santa sack, it's hard to make a big pile when the gifts are little and expensive. I still like to have that big pile under the tree like when the guys were little. I didn't know what a grotto was, all I could think of was Ariel's Grotto. lol

I'm glad to see MMW is back! I'll bet if you get to go out to dinner on your Halloween/b-day next year, you could go anywhere you want and not have it be crowded!

rt, good luck on your long car trip!

We didn't do much today, DS and I got haircuts and stopped and tried those pumpkin muffins from Dunkin Donuts. I didn't think they were as good as my pumpkin bread. The white hot chocolate was awesome, though. DH was fixing the leaky roof. The highlight of my night was going to be watching 48 Hours in my jammies. 10PM came and went with one of those CSI shows on. (I guess there was a football game on, so I thought it would come on at 10:30.) 10:30 came and guess what came on? You've guessed right if you guessed another CSI episode. I guess I'll clip my coupons instead. Another exciting Saturday night at my house! lol

hey tx- are you watching the dallas cowboy cheerleaders show on tv? the finale was tonight. a pretty happy ending for almost all of the girls.
villians- what do you suppose "her" is doing this weekend that will allow her to have all that money on a monday?-insert imagination running wild here. she's a real slime ball!
tq- the grotto, huh? my girlfriend here and i thought we would call going into des moines "going into the city" like the big time. just for laughs! it is kind of funny. we also started doing that crazy kissing on both cheeks when we meet up with each other like our european counterparts. it's kind of funny to see people look at you all wierd. wait.... wierd? uh, maybe that's me-but i do usually have alot of fun! so-- kiss on cheek-kiss on cheek to all my friends- see ya tomorrow.

Happy late birthday MMW. Glad you did not ditch us.
Tink I wish I had a Dunkin Donuts here. It is DH's favorite. We have Krispy Kreme instead. You all are so lucky to be home this evening. I spent my night at a hair party. It was fun but I am tired and wish I could have stayed in jammies. Now I have to be at DD competition at 8:30am. Thank goodness for daylight savings because it is really only 9:00pm. Good Night.

I am devastated, my little fridge i bought the other day was smashed up when DH opened it. We returned it and they didn't have any left to get a new one. Darn! We were really looking forward to having some cold beverages again. I'm not sure if you all know the back story about my DS with the really bad OCD that dumps all of the juice, soda, iced tea down the drain or all over the floor, if he sees it in the fridge.
We've been buying ice at the $ store and putting it in a cooler that we hide in the basement way in the back where it's dark and scary and he won't see it. We have to lock the door and hide down there to drink it. We were hoing the phase would pass and it hasn't, so we decided to buy the mini fridge, picked out a spot to hide it and I had to make sure it was big enough to hold milk, b/c just 2 weeks ago he started pouring that out, too. (Only if it's in a carton, tho, the plastic jug is still okay for now. But, who knows how long that will last!)
It's taken weeks to find one that fits the criteria and now I'm back to square one. I did get a rain check, so I'll go back a few times this week to see if they got any in.
This am. he got a hold of a bag of potato chips and dumped them all over the living room floor. (I was washing my hair.) I wanted to do something fun before I started cleaning it up, so I wasn't cranky all day from the start. I came on LP to get a few laughs and I really shouldn't have b/c he has been walking all around, kicking the chips and the oil from the chips got on his socks. Now, he has spread the oil onto every room on the first floor. So, I've got way more cleaning to do b/c I procrastinated, again!
I'm glad I have that extra hour to vaccum, (sp?) mop and sweep! (and tonite I have to w*rk!)
I hope you all have a better day than me!

The other night, youngest DD had a couple of friends over for the night. I walked past her room to open the door for Needy Cat to our bedroom when I was treated to the unique odor of cat poop. Ugh! So I looked into her room and it was coming from her room. Now I don't make the kids keep their rooms clean all week, but they do need to pick up once a week and look at the color of the carpet as the vacuum. Then it reverts to chaos again. So my thought was that one of the cats used her messy floor for a litter box. I called her in and told her she needed to get in there and figure out what and where and clean it up. So she went in and was ready to kill the Boy Cat (un-boy really) and discovered the odor was coming from the shoes of one of the friends. Ewwww! I told her that they needed to air out on the back patio. After that, no more odor. I think the shoes need washing (Vans).
