I have been waiting for this moment for almost 5 months.

No, there's no relationship between Mark and the ex. The ex is in Alaska and hasn't seen Mark in years. They actually are no longer friends. Truth be known, they pretty much hate each other. The ex screwed Mark over, and Mark screwed the ex over.

Of course Kenny shared his beer with me...he even brought the good stuff.

Because he thinks YOU have it, you should give it to HIM? All the lies and he wonders if you're mad at HIM? OMG, I am livid! This is the thanks you get for years of hospitality and friendship? It's appalling. I don't know how you held out so long for the "Day of Reckoning." I'm surprised that he's so dumb that he's going to show up. I mean, if someone pulled that stunt on him, how would he react? I agree with the girls, there's a match to be made here!

So glad you are now on money coming back villians!
Re card scam. We were in Bangkok in April this year and the same thing happened. It was a card for a savings account rather than a credit card but after about 2 months after we left Bangkok someone was in Rome releiving me of about $2000. We noticed it on a weekend and rang the bank but they could do nothing until the end of the next working day. We did get all our money back but it was a pain in the neck as we needed new cards and new pin numbers.
Been to w**k today and in Melbourne in Victoria (another state) they have a big horse race so today was hats and champagne and dips and cheese at w**k this afternoon. I feel a little drowsy but had to read all 42 new posts!
Hope to read the next chapter tomorrow!
And hear of more money coming in!

A bunch of my DH's friends hunt and I have heard how much they pay for deer leases and they are a lot more than he tried to screw you over for. Because you have it - What kind of lame excuse is that? When I add up the actual cost (I know I am an accountant and prone to do crazy stuff like that), it costs around $1175 which is right in line with his $1200 estimate so did he find something he wanted for $1150 and decided because you had it, you should buy it for him? He sounds like quite a peice of work. Yes, HIM and HER sound like a perfect match. They can screw each other and leave everyone else alone. I know why you waited until after you let him have it to tell us the story. You knew we would be so mad at him, that we would want to go and tell him off too (or at the very least, sit with Kenny and drink some beer) <g>

I do have a solution for you to keep this happening again, just spend all your money on trips to DL and you won't have it anymore. ;)

Boy am I glad I reread this post before I submitted it, or MM would have really gotten on me because I almost mentioned a bad four lettter word and a three letter one. I would have had to go sit in the corner for the rest of the day. <g>

I still can't believe he had the nerve to say that-- well, I can, it just amazes me how stupid and greedy people are. He would definitely be off the "hunting" list! Well, unless you guys used him as the deer and paintguns instead of rifles--- that might be kind of fun. How fast can he run?

TQ...you got champagne at w**k??? Man, sign me up, too.

TX...mickey is right...villains made up the w**k rule. Good job catching yourself...we LOVE giving each other a hard time.

Ok...here's the end of my tale.

First off, I need to say a couple of things. I never get angry, it's not my nature. However, the one and only thing that WILL make me angry is someone doing ill-will to my family. That is the one thing that I will not tolerate, and I will not forgive.

On the rare occasion that I AM mad, I never raise my voice...NEVER. I am of the conviction that if you yell and scream, the person you are mad at doesn't hear WHAT you are saying...only HOW you are saying it. So, I speak in a tone that actually forces the person to consentrate hard on what I am saying...then I know they have heard me.

I have practiced what I wanted to say to Mark for almost 6 months, and I can pretty much tell you it word for word.

So here is the final chapter...

MM, you sound just like me! I also hate yelling. I always have. It serves no purpose. Like you, I am also usually hard to provoke--- unless it is something that involves a wrong-doing to my DH or DD. Then watch out! I am a mama tiger circling her cubs. My family knows--- that when I get mad, I get very quiet. LOL, they say it is worse than yelling.

Anyways-- get on with the story already! I think you are purposely keeping us on pins and needles in order to HEIGHTEN the anticipation of a good old flogging. :p

I'm not a yeller, either. My sister yelled enough my whole life that I swore I'd never sound like that. How does anyone know when you're REALLY mad if you yell ALL the time?

I get up early and head to the shop to work on the rocking horse, and run through my head what I plan on saying to Mark later that day.

Kenny shows up with his lawn chair, a case of Corona and 4 limes. Later that morning, Scott, Jimmy, Larry, and Danny stop by. Once Kenny tells them that Mark is headed up, they ask if they can hang out for the day. Kenny sends them to town for more beer.

It's mid-afternoon, and I'm in the shop with Kenny's wife, Christa, showing her how to build a shelf. I turn to go get something, and there stands Mark with 2 bottles of wine. He hands me the wine and makes a move towards giving me a hug. I stand my ground and say, "any part of you that touches any part of me gets broken." Mark takes a step back and asks if we can talk. I tell him that we can talk later after Kenny's kids go home. He heads out of the shop and I don't see him for the next few hours.

Later on that evening, Christa leaves with the kids, and the guys all head out to sit by the campfire. I send DD into the house to take a shower and watch Funniest Home Videos.

I head towards the campfire, and there is Kenny...patting the empty chair next to him with a smirky look on his face. Kenny is one of the biggest smart alecs I know...I love the guy.

The guys are talking and laughing, and after a few minutes Mark says, "Kat, talk to me." There is DEAD SILENCE. I say, "Mark, are you SURE you want to go there?" He says yes, and I ask him where he wants to go. Kenny says to Mark, "Here, take my chair." Mark sits down in Kenny's chair, and Kenny goes into the RV, comes out with his bottle of Crown Royal, hands it to Mark and says, "Here, you might want to take a hit off this." I look at Kenny and say, "Shut up, Kenny." Kenny laughs, sits in a chair, opens his cooler and proceeds to pass beers around.

I turn my chair towards Mark, and he starts to say something. I held my finger up to quiet him, and he looked at the ground and started kicking dirt around. I was finally able to say to him what I had wanted to say for 6 months...

"Mark...you're gonna sit there and listen to what I have to say, and you will not say ONE WORD until I am finished. And you WILL look me straight in the eye. If you could look me in the eye when you lied to me, you're sure as heck are gonna look me in the eye now."

"I'm a big kid, Mark, and I can take whatever someone wants to dish out. BUT, when someone messes with my family, I draw the line. What you did to George was unconscionable. Take a look around at these guys sitting here...it it inconceivable to them to even THINK about doing something like that to each other."

"George is the kindest, most generous and honest man that ANY of you know, and you took advantage of that. You took advantage of the fact that he trusted you as his friend."

"Even when I told him that I thought you were screwing him over he stood up for you and said that you would NEVER do anything like that. I had to PROVE to George that you were a liar and a cheat before he would believe me."

"You were willing to toss a friendship for money. You know what, Mark...even though you said you were gonna put the sprinkler system in "labor free", George planned on giving you $500. Funny thing is...he believed that you would turn the money down because of your friendship...when all along you planned on stealing $1100 from him."

"Now, you have the unmitigated gall to expect to be welcome in my home and to go hunting here. Mark, the ONLY reason you are here is because of George. He said he wanted to put this in the past and forget about it. If it were up to me, I would never see you again. I've got lots of friends, and I do not need nor do not want one like you."

"George is a much better person than I am, and a much better person than you could ever hope to be...he still wants you for a friend, so I won't make waves. When you are here I will be civil. Be assured...I do this because I love George...NOT because I value having a relationship with you."

I have to say this for Mark...he never broke eye contact, and he didn't say one word.

When he finally spoke, he said, "Kat, I would have rathered that you beat me senseless with a baseball bat than to have you do what you just did to me. Everything you said is true, but all I can do is say I'm sorry. I need for you to believe that, and I need for you to trust me."

So, I told him that trust is something earned...not something given. I told him that there may be a time when I trust him, but it will be a heck of a lot longer before he has my respect.

Well...God love Kenny. He comes over to Mark and holds out his hunting knife. Mark asks him what it's for. Kenny goes, "I figured you probably wanted to slit your throat about now....and I think if you talk to her real nice, she might give you your "walnuts" back, they're in her back pocket."

Of course they all start laughing at Kenny, and I had to tell him to shut up again. Mark actually apologized to all the guys, not just George.
