OMG, As I was reading the posts and trying to catch up, I was thinking the same thing! How can she possibly make that poor dear child wait almost 2 years to get back to DL? What kind of a mother is she? ;)

yipee, give us your dates and airports, I can check for you every day b/c I already have mine purchased. (It's not as stressful as waiting 'til the last minute for the price to drop, but it feels strange not checking airfare every day, like I'm forgetting to do something.) I just checked MM's dates that were posted yesterday, only to find that she's not going anymore. (The fares were less on 12/25-12/28 than 12/23-12/26 .)

So we all need to call the Child Services department and get that poor girl out of that house - next thing you know we'll find out MMOM is leaving that girl with the half-wits and going on a little vaca of her own! You never know those half-wits might make that precious girl get on a bus and train just for the "fun" of it - especially since she "missed" all that family bonding on the big adventure over the summer...

    Just kidding...

Thanks for the help! Just so you know, we need to leave from Calgary, Alberta. That's why the selection of awesome rates is so hard to find. Southwest has had some amazing specials, but they don't fly out of Canada! :( And to connect to Seattle or something would really shoot the price up!

I think our best bet is West Jet. I've been watching, and they will usually drop the price to about $120 or lower at some point. The question is when! Preferable before we go crazy with the waiting. It's like russian roulette...how long do we wait for the cheaper flight and risk having the flight fill up, hey?

If we had just gotten our act together earlier, and decided to go back in August, I think we missed some GREAT sales! Sigh. Story of my life...

Anyways, thanks for your help, and keep sending out those SEAT SALE vibes! (just like Homer - Donuts, donuts...:)

That job fair was pretty much a waste of time, Villains. I went with my cousin and we had a lot of laughs, though. We came home with a bag full of brochures that we probably won't ever look at! lol
I did get a few calls for my other job, though, so maybe things are looking up a bit...I don't need much, just enough to scrape by and get me to DL a couple of times a year.

First off, villains and tink...are you guys daft, stupid, without basic reading comprehension, or do you just not pay attention? I have said time and time again that I can only do DL EVERY OTHER YEAR. Now, since I went to DL one month ago, when will my next summer vacation there be???? The christmas trip was an extra deal, but my summer vacation schedule stays the same.

Yes, girls, I checked every stinkin' airport within a 100 mile radius of Anaheim. The best deal, actually, was by flying into San Diego. I'm still gonna wait until next christmas...then, I can have the blow-out that I deserve...I mean, that my family dererves.

I will cut villains a bit of a break today because it is her birthday, and besides being excited about the evening she has planned, she is probably suffering from the early on-set of Alzheimer's.

So, villains, you met and then married your DH within 6 months? What a ho. Seriously, that is very romantic...must have been love at first sight and fate all rolled into one. You know how I talk about DH? We've been together 9 years now, but we've never gotten married yet. Every time we try and plan something, we decide to spend the money and go to DL instead. Most of the time, we forget that we AREN'T married...until someone mentions it. I guess I'm the ho...living in sin, setting a bad example for my pre-teen daughter.

yipee....Yipee to you for getting your airfare handled! Some of us (you know who you are, tink) have been known to wait until the last minute, pay outrageous prices, and then whine about it for a month. DO have a wonderful trip, yipee.

allthingsdisney...I DO know where Kelso is. My brother used to live in Vancouver.

Well, looks like it's that time of day when I tell my boss to "bite me", and I can go home and wait for CPS to arrive.

Sorry the fair wasn't so fair!! I keep thinking about getting a job and then I realize no job will let me take time off on a whim to go to DL!! I have tons of clothes and stuff sitting around here I need to sell (my younger two only wore Disney Store/Land and Gap clothes up until recently - well DD still does - so I have to start selling off the outgrown stuff (or in DD case stuff I got bored with - she grows rather slowly) Well I guess that will be my goal when I get back next week!!

Mothing else from MOLLYSMOM today I hope the welfare department didn't take here in already.=)

Gotta head out for the night the Jersey Boys are calling and I gotta catch the Bart to get there!!

I'll have to tell you about my crazy job that you only have to work when you want to, and therefore can take off to go to DL. Of course, I don't make the beaucoup bucks that Mollysmom does!
What day is your next trip, Villains, I think it's the 23rd, but I'm not certain. So, yes we can meet up on your 3rd trip! I still have to post in my trip countdown for LP, now that I have the plane tix and all. I was going through that "I don't think I can afford it" stage, and after watching the fares creep up, I just threw caution to the wind and pulled my credit card out one night last week and went for it. So, I now officially have dates set.
I hope you have some of your Mudslides for tonite!

My friend, on advice from me which I got from Laughing Place, recently booked airfare out of Seattle for $800.00 for the 4 of them!Unfortunately, living in Calgary, that is not an option for you.
However, it is not really an option for us either because my husband refuses to drive all the way to Seattle even to save some money.
We western Canadians are at the mercy of Air Canada and Westjest basically.
    Sending you seat sale vibes!!!!

We were going to use AirMiles, but one day the West Jet flights were available, and the next day it was just Air Canada! Wahh. We like the West Jet times way better. Also, it looks like the West Jet jets are bigger. We've always had a jet that had 3 seats per aisle, where it looks like the Air Canada ones are only 2 seats per aisle. Not to mention the cool satellite TV with West Jet.

But I digress... what most irked us about airmiles was having to spend about $700 (including cancellation insurance) for a FREE flight. We figured we'd be better off using the airmiles for merchandise and hopper tickets and pay NOTHING!

The first year we went we managed to get a West Jet sale of $89 per person each way! We'll NEVER see that again! The last time we went, we got something like $117, and then the next day the sale dropped to $107. grrrr. But now we're down to less than 3 months til we would like to leave, so we're not sure how long we hold out for cheaper West Jet flights, and risk having the seats fill up, versus just giving up and going with Air Canada and airmiles. (you know, the old "one bird in the hand..)

Sigh. The torture I bring upon myself... :p

Tink and villains...if you two DO hook up at DL and you DON'T send me a picture, I will be VERY angry with you. Geez, tink, first you get to meet mickeynewe, and then you get to meet villains...I'm feelin' left out and jealous.

Villains...your experience with your DH is creepily similar to mine. There should have been the Twilight Zone theme music playing in the background when I was reading your story.

I met my studmuffin on August 26th, 1998, and we, too started dating over Labor Day weekend. He moved in over Thanksgiving weekend, and we got engaged that christmas. Haven't bothered to "get legal" as you know. Very strange how similar our stories are.

Tink...I got VERY excited when you said that I made big bucks. I checked my wallet, however, and saw that you were just pulling my leg.

I am anxious to hear about the Jersy Boys, too. Maybe she's sleeping off all of the frozen mudslides.

Where is Mickeynewe, anyway? Just cause she doesn't have a trip planned in the near future is no excuse for not keeping in touch on the LP boards. I mean, after all, some of us can talk about planning trips in 2009, for goodness sakes!

Yes...I am a BIG fan of 48 Hours Mystery...wouldn't miss it. Plus, I am a Court TV junkie. Lotta dirt bags out there.

Met my dirt bag...I mean DH...when he came to work here. It was reasonably safe. He passed the background check and drug test. So, here's a single, employed, straight, clean guy with no criminal background...not to mention very hot, and knows how to put on a pair of Levis.....MINE MINE MINE!!!!! You can't let something like that stay out in the open for long. I jumped on that boy mighty quick.

I was wondering where mickey was, too. I have noticed that she's not on much when she isn't planning a trip, but I think she pretty much goes each year around Turkey Day. I had a passing thought and concern about her recent health issues. I hope she's ok. Should we PM her?

Dinner - Jack in the Box (hubby couldn't get out of work as early as he thought) Will take me out for nice dinner - maybe tomorrow
    No Drinks :(
So tired from such late night with too many stairs (balcony seats) and no I have not scheduled my ankle surgery yet and I can feel it today!!

Tonight Drinks and a movie with SIL. Not too many because some ding dong in our soccer league thinks my son wants to play soccer at 8am - yes scheduler should be tarred and feathered!

Love 48hrs - but met my guy through mutual friend who said he was a good guy and he is! He loved me from the start and when he met my son he fell for him too. He has alwasy loved us and supported us even though dealing with my X has made things hard - he has never once said he wished things were any different...My son called him daddy before his own dad and it was my hubby that stayed home with the sick baby and up all night when needed and never complained!! He was meant to be my hubby and my son's dad. When I see what happens on some of those show's I know to thank God I ended up with a good guy!!

Funny MMOM that when you meet someone and it clicks how fast things can fall into place!!

Maybe if we don't here from mickey we should send out a smoke signal and make sure she is okay...

Oh yeah MMOM have you heard from child welfare yet!! Making that poor girl wait over a year for another trip after what you put her through this summer!! Tsk tsk!!

Hey tink I leave on the 27th - I am having such a hard time keeping this secret!! Her teacher asked her on monday how many days she was going to miss on her trip!! My DD just looked at him and said I didn't know I was leaving - and said you must be thinking of Ariana (DD friend who is in the same class and should be getting home from DL today) Whew it sure was a close one!!

Tink now I think we should definitly meet up in Nov and send a pict to MMOM! My mom and I already have seating for the candlelighting are you going to that too?

Burger King, huh? Actually, a Whopper now and then is pretty tasty. I'm havin' a hard time with the "no drinks" deal, though. I will assume that you and SIL will rectify that tonite.

Yes, sometimes things just "click" as you say. I think we both got pretty lucky with our fellows, and our kids got lucky, too. Your ex sounds like mine... a major poo. My DD adores DH and has very little to do with her bio dad. He lives about 275 miles away, but only bothers to see her 2-4 days a year, and he never calls. He actually left us when I was pregnant with her. We have both been very blessed to have DH come into our lives.

Close call with the teacher almost spilling the beans...whew! On DD's surprise trip to DL my dad about spoiled it.

Ok, when you and tink hook up and take a picture for me, I would like to request that you buy a drink for me and set it on the table with you. I'm SURE you'll make good use of it after the photo op.

As far as waiting too long for DL again...DH actually says that we can go every year if I want. I'm the one that says every other year. NOT because that's what I want, but it's to be fair to DH. He LOVES to go camping and fishing...I mean LOVES. So, on our "off" years we go to Lake Roosevelt for a week, hang out on the beach, go tubing and fishing and R E L A X. He would gladly give up his camping vacations for DD and I, but there's no way that I would go for that, as much as I love to go to DL. He always says that he's happy wherever we go and he just wants to hang out with us, but we love going camping with him because he loves it so much. So there...I DO in fact have a heart.

Ok...what should we do about mickeynewe? I like the smoke signal idea. Her best friend posts here, if I remember correctly, maybe she knows how she's doing. I really am getting concerned about her. Normally, I'd just think she was busy with other things. Her DD is very active in school. With her health issues this past summer I worry a bit more.

Speakin' of health....get your darn ankle fixed already! I thought tink and I already handled that with you. When you get back from vacation, you need to get that fixed.
