When I am visiting a Disney theme park, or a non-Disney theme park, or a museum, or a zoo, or an aquarium, or an informal concert, I'm almost always wearing either a short-sleeved dress shirt, or a golf-shirt with a breast pocket. When I go to church, or to a formal concert, or I'm traveling by air, or by intercity train, I'm almost always wearing a suit and tie. Unless I'm visiting Hawaii, in which case, a tucked-in reverse Aloha-print shirt, with a tie. In my closet, I keep 12 short-sleeved dress shirts (4 blue, 4 white, 4 beige), 2 white PIPORG-L golf shirts, and a red International Printing Museum uniform golf shirt. Along with 7 pair of Haggar Expand-O-Matic (2 each of blue, brown, and black, and 1 gray). Along with a handful of white long-sleeve dress shirts, and 3 reverse aloha-prints (2 of them by Reyn Spooner, the third one made entirely in Hawaii. I change my oil, or paint, or do other things that are likely to permanently ruin whatever I'm wearing, in a worn-out dress shirt, and worn-out Expand-o-Matics. Any questions?

It's been years since I the last time I went on vacation without going to church somewhere along the line; I always wear a suit to church (when I was raised, EVERYBODY did that). And I think the last vacation that didn't include either a formal indoor concert by the local orchestra, or live theatre, or both, was my most recent trip to Hawaii. Again, I wear a suit to such occasions. Your suit is not going to get any more wrinkled if you wear it aboard the aircraft or the train, than it will in your luggage, and it might very well get less wrinkled. And if you're wearing a suit on the aircraft or train, the crew might very well treat you as a business traveler. My suit has never gotten me a free upgrade to business class or first class, but most of the airlines I fly don't HAVE business class or first class. Paradoxically, when I travel on business, since I'm not a salesman (and therefore have no need to show up in anything but my geek uniform), don't usually have concerts or live theatre to go to, and am not usually gone on a Sunday (and if I AM, I'm stuck WORKING on that Sunday), I don't bother with a suit.

I sure don't. There's a reason almost no one wear business suits anymore now that there is no societal pressure to wear them anymore. They are uncomfortable.

But who wants to go out .. looking like you are wearing your pajamas? I don't refer to Suits .. as Business Suits. They are just 'Suits'. It actually is possible to desire to "dress up" ... may it be going out to a nice dinner, or maybe one likes the art of dressing up. (Aside from those who wear them for work.)
