I always find it fascinating in San Diego to notice that the newest parts of the trolley system in Mission Valley are almost entirely elevated. If they wanted to get the trolleys above-grade, it makes you wonder why they didn't consider building a monorail system instead? An elevated trolley system is far more expensive than a monorail system.

Then we get to the room and it is missing basic things like mugs. Here's the thing that topped everything off: The did NOT change the sheets between us and the prior guests! When we went to get into the bed, there was glitter and hair on the bed. I called down to housekeeping and told them they needed to change them IMMEDIATELY. They seemed surprised that I was upset. I complained to a "manager named Matt" the next day who apologized and agreed to give us free lunch to make up for it. (I did not request anything free). Lastly, when we received the bill, there were room charges for the telephone (we live in Orlando and had our cell phones so this was not us) and valet parking added for the Wilderness lodge (we are DVC members so there should have been no charge.) I spend time straightening all this out with the second of my terrible desk clerks. I am sad to stay we will not be staying there again in the future which is quite sad because I had very fond memories there as a child.
