There's nothing wrong with being stinkin' rich. But when all of your policy positions favor the rich at the expense of those less fortunate, it becomes a liability.

But it was the same thing the other way 'round with Kerry, vbdad. The same folks defending McCain's wealth now are the same ones that brought up Kerry's wealth at every opportunity. That is, when they weren't mocking his military service.

If you're going to jump in to point out that stuff out on one side, please don't forget to mention the whole story.

Scars from being a POW. Absolutely. I have enormous respect for McCain and the way he passed up the chance to go home. That McCain is a man of honor beyond compare.

Republican cloth coat. Maybe we're just defining that term differently. McCain comes from a very impressive family. A family history to be proud of to be sure. But, and maybe I'm wrong, but he didn't come from poor. And I didn't make that whine about "where have all the cloth coats gone" as a slam on McCain in the first place. I was just whining about was the fact that you can't throw a cat in a political field anymore without hitting a billionaire.

And though McCain may end up with only one car if Cindy dumped him, I bet he could buy another one with the $250ishK he pulls down every year anyway. But like I said before, I do not begrudge him his money a single bit.

There are so many other things to talk about. I just keep waiting for someone in the media to actually talk about them in a meaningful way. Like maybe after a good presidential debate...

He comes from a military family. Third Generation, fist to not be an Admiral. Yeah, he's just like the rest of us who are fearful for our jobs, our mortgages, and our well-being.

If that's all he owns and is responsible for, will he be able to be responsible for all the things a President should be without his wife around to be the owner/hirer of the caretakers for everything else?
