You really do jump to odd conclusions, I must say.

I'd hate to be starting a 3-4 day vacation here now. 29 is cold whether it is here or New Jersey.

But I know someone who was here from the UK (they left last week) and went to Discovery Cove on a day that it was in the 40's as a low (and the high was maybe in the 50's). That would have been difficult for me. Bundling up in the park, that is okay. Jacuzzi tubs are quite something when you are in them, and get out to 30-some odd degree temps.

There are times when it's windy out, or some other weather issue - and it doesn't feel safe to me to have one person in charge of a boat. Not too long ago I had a really speedy boat driver, definitely not slowing down much in the slow-boating zones. I don't know what that was about.

They don't make a bit of difference. Does it make you nervous to ride in a bus that doesn't have an extra driver for safety?

There's very little reason to have someone in the copilots' seat.

I'm sure it feels good when you're in the water, but when you get out ... ouch!

I promise to try harder next time. <<Your post, in response to my true-to-life adventure story, seemed like a dismissal.>> I didn't intend that, but it seems like my threads often take on a life of their own and spread into so many tangents. I understood your situation and appreciate it. There will always be unforseen situations in the real world. It appears you handled yours in a commendable fashion. Everyone doesn't do likewise. There are also circumstances of pure incompetence/negligance and it sounds to me like that is what happened to my pal. If it wasn't, I'll tell him and tell you guys otherwise. But if the kid was clueless and caused the situation, I'll do that as well. I'd also say here that I, personally, would feel more comfortable with someone older being my captain. Just like I'd rather have a surgeon or pilot etc ... that is in their 40s or 50s or 60s and has loads of experience, including when the unexpected happens.
