I hope he gets it in time. Actually, I really don't care that much. I had a heck of a time buying it yesterday. All of the FD cards are all warm and fuzzy and say stuff like "you're the greatest dad ever" or "I really look up to you" or "your wisdom and sacrifice have helped me" blah blah blah. Even the funny cards seemed so fake. After years of trying to send thoughtful gifts, and then just resorting to framed pictures of my kids (I was told that they already have enough frames!), I wish I had the guts to just put him out of my life. It wouldn't be hard...it would require a couple less cards and emails a year, maybe a phone call. Really not so tough at all. I confess that I am sad that I tried to be a good daughter and tried to have a good relationship with him and he just didn't take me up on it. Wow, I didn't mean to say so much in this post...I guess it's a good thing I have an appt. with my therapist at 1 o'clock today.
