Speaking of lime green bell bottoms (and Mark was) I confess that in te early 70's I thought that the Sears 12-in-1 suit was pure genious. It was for boys and it featured reversable pants, jacket, vest -- so that by varying the combinations, you could get in effect 12 outfits with one suit. I never got one, but I confess I now have to search the web to see if I can find an opld Sears Catalog photo of that suit.

Instead of being held in the typical sterile cement-block-and-windows with cheap plastic desk/chairs room, it was held in the Shop room. The room was big and high-ceilinged and cluttered with industrial-looking stuff. We sat on stools around big butcher-block tables. Mrs. Ainslee was way cool. We got to listen to the radio and move around and work independently. So... Mrs. Ainslee had to run to the office for something. A great song came on the radio. I got on top of a butcher block table and danced. Mrs. Ainslee returned. I could tell that she thought it was pretty harmless -- cool, even -- but she HAD to give me a detention. I could've fallen and cracked my head open or something. Or -- I can't remember if I committed this horror that day or not -- I could have been wearing my favorite tight-cut, double-buttoned, long-collared, very red shirt with my very bright green pants. In retrospect, that fashion faux pas was extremely detention-worthy.
