My daughter has been marked absent by this teacher numerous times this year, she was in class and the. She didn't even turn in the grades for the last report cards so it showed my daughter was not even in a P.E. class. This teacher has a reputation for letting her class out early and allowing them just to wonder. I get left to decipher the truth. My daughter says she was told they were given permission. The teacher says they weren't. My daughter says the walked the whole time and I can call the other coaches that were out there and find out, this teacher says they weren't walking and she will not ask the other coaches. My daughter, honor roll student, now has to serve Saturday school. I told her she never should have taken another persons word that it was okay to walk the track. Do I add punishment at home? Arg, kids!

When class was dismissed today she gave my daughter a paper to turn in saying she was not truent so she won't have to serve Saturday school. I've talked to my daughter more and she sees what part she was wrong in doing. She tells me she will do her best to stay on the teachers good side for the last 18 days of school. Now we just have to hope the teacher remembers to turn in the grades this time.

I told my dad, thinking since he was paying the bills, and he didn't believe me. Everyone in class got a "B" regardless of attending the final or not. In grammar school, I had a teacher I simply could not understand (he had a very thick accent) and it was frustrating. No one took my side either in this when I couldn't figure out what numbers he was saying in math.

I confess, thanks Ursula, sometimes it's hard to believe you can't always take the teachers word for what it is. After talking with my daughter some more about this I think we figured out how the confusion happened and I hope we are over it.
