I guess we get what we deserve.

I confess there has not been a new refinery built in the United States since the early 70's, because the government has not allowed them. How is the industry supposed to produce enough gas for the 2005 U.S.?

I further confess that while the U.S. has vast stores of oil, our environmental policies will not allow drilling to access them. I'm not making a judgement as to whether this is right or wrong, it simply is. Therefore, we have to buy a lot of foreign oil. Much of the U.S. oil is what is called 'sour crude'. This means it has a very high sulfer content and has to undergo more extensive refining.

I confess it simply supply and demand, and very sad situation overall for the consumer.

I also confess that I was a bit, er, what's the word...bothered by the letter my daughter's teacher sent home yesterday. It was filled w/typos and grammatical errors. Am I being a total jerk by assuming a teacher would know proper english OR would at least spellcheck?

I confess that I am probably a jerk. LOL

I confess spellcheck is a great thing! I always thought teacher were extra smart too, but then I realized that some of the best teachers are, shall I say, not exactly rocket scientist material... the reasoning for this being that, maybe it took them a little longer to learn a concept and since it was more challenging for them, they've learned patience (good to have as a teacher) and they've found out that everyone learns differently, so perhaps they can come up with different ways of making the material understandable to lots of different kids.

Maybe this teacher's strong points are more in the math/science genre?

And yeah... spellcheck would be nice. :)

I'm not a famous person or even a slightly known person but I am happy with myself and have grown to accept that with every good there is usually a little bit of bad. It's part of life. That being said, things can and do change and wouldn't it be awful if you were to give up just the day before it all happens for you? Hang in there!
