Where else can you find a 10-day weather forcast that calls for rainfall using eleven different terms?!?

You will be discrediting yourself as a teacher as well as the entire class. If every teacher threw out the hard question, school would be easy an everyone would get A's. Algebra is a hard subject to grasp, especially the first chapter just jumping in. Do remember that a lot of people and kids are scared off of math and algebra by parents and other students before they step foot in the door on day 1. I'd go over the very hard question in class in detail and put it on the next quiz. Let the students know you are open to answering questions and show them there might be more than one way to explain a concept.
