I have not met Leon or Jack personally, but have had some special correspondence with them. I created an index to the "E" Ticket magazines for my own uses in order to find the various subjects and articles in the issues. I offered a copy to the "E" Ticket and Leon was thrilled with it, since Jack and he had never had the time to do an index to the issues. Leon asked me to share the index with the "E" Ticket readers at my cost - which I did for several years. I was able to share some video with Leon and Jack over the years and always enjoyed the phone calls, letters, and e-mails that we shared.

My heart-felt condolences and best wishes to the Janzen family.

Since a few posters mentioned condolences, I wanted to give everyone on Laughing Place an update - in lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions made to a writing scholarship being created in Leon's name. They can send all donations to:

    Leon Janzen CalArts Writing Scholarship
    P.O. Box 800880
    Santa Clarita, Ca. 91380-0880

    Thanks,
    Chris Merritt
