At least with Big Thunder you have animals, the flooded town, bats, earthquakes, the dinosaur bones--all of which makes the ride feel more complete. I couldn't care less about the queue. I'm gonna Fastpass it anyway, so the ride better be good when I finally get onboard. >> I think that's supposed to be the train track itself, Hokie. LOL << Why would the "realistic" train track twist and turn like a roller coaster track? It's just sloppy showmanship. At least Big Thunder doesn't try to convince me that it's an actual mine train--it's fantasy, and light on heavy-handed story, so it works for me. <<But what do you want in a barren mountain setting?>> If the setting is thematically barren and there's supposed to be nothing to look at, then perhaps this wasn't the best theme for a big blockbuster ride.

In that vein, you could ask the same of BTMR...

But Thunder Mountain, to its credit, has no such pretense. It's simply "the wildest ride in the wilderness."

If it does, that could justify the erratic behavior of the train.
