I don't know if it was motion controlled from a program or a puppeteer, but the action was stilted and boring. I don't know what the excitment of the crowd was all about. I have seen better performances at the junk yard by the back hoe operator. They should have hired a back hoe operator to demonstrate the possibilities. There is an excellent sound system in place for the show, but it is under utilized for the Dragon. Good sound design would have a scary roar from the dragon it point source speakers in the head or neck, and LFE (I'm a film guy, LFE is low frequency effects) cranked from the land side speakers to rumble the crowd. It is a good show, and a lot of talented people work very hard to turn it in day after day, but when Pan swinging on the rigging of the Columbia is more exciting than the finale it is time to turn the checkbook over to a showman. And judging from the sounds of the crowd in a video from Friday night's performance, Murhpy is continuing to totally wow the crowd. I just can't imagine why you expect the entire dragon to skip and hop around, but the animation that is there is completely effective, well lit and choreographed, and the special effects of the flame, sparks, and smoke are all perfectly timed. I think it's a spectacular addition to the show, and I can't wait to see it in person.

I just think I need to get accustomed to the new look. The crowds were very excited and nothing like an evening on the rivers edge. Perfect.

I have to agree with what dan has said above. neekerbell, when did you work at Lincoln? I started there in 2003 when I first got to the park.
