I do have ONE question about Tarzan Island to Lee or anyone that can answer: Is it JUST the Treehouse?? I would assume it would be a little like TSI with other stuff like caves, trails, bridges and etc, right? I just can't imagine taking those cool little rafts all the way over to the island just climb up the tree?? That would suck......hard!!

I think Hans was just speaking cosmetically. At least that is different about Hong Kong, besides Main Street, the other lands do have their own identities (despite the homages to other attractions/lands within).

This was at a time when a plane trip to L.A. was probably around 30,000 yen (or $3,000), so they wanted to make the guest feel that they had the REAL DL in their backyard. It wasn't about money. 20 years later and TDS clearly proves that issue. As for HKDL, I don't know WHAT it's about, but it would've been nice to not leave it so sparse, clones or no clones.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. Disney actually did want to go different with TDL, but OLC had the "American" experience in mind. That certainly wasn't due to budget constraints either!

Sorry for the lack of JC pix but the boats weren't even cycling that week. <<It makes me more grateful for those like "Lee" who take such incredible photos that we still get a feeling of being there even if we can't be physically.>> Thanks for the kind words and hope you continue to enjoy the HKDL updates! Originally Posted By BrigmanMT 2 "WorldDisney there is PLENTY of room on the island but only the treehouse for now. It is huge." Oh that's too bad. I was assuming that there was some pirate caves like at Paris. Maybe like Tom Sawyer Island opening a year later, these additions will debut soon after the park opening. A wrecked ship to explore, with some attached pirate tresure caves or skull rock would be a great way to get people hyped for a Pirates of the Carribean attraction that could appear across the river. I want to see the whole sandy, palm tree covered beach a poster mentioned earlier. That would be pretty cool and would bring some variety to the Adventureland region. And the fortress structure could interact with the boats for a new scene on the Jungle Cruise. I really want to see that shoreline around the river, because I am unsure if I am picturing it correctly. I keep thinking of the Rivers of America but with Jungle surrounding it, is this how it is? Is most of the river front walkway, like at Disneyland? Does the actual ride ever go really deep and out of site, aside from the valley of the gods moment? Would it be possible for additional attractions to be perched right on the rivers edge? Sorry for all of the questions, but I am really getting excited for this park.

You can see about 1/3rd of the whole river from Adventureland and the walkway snakes towards and away from the river but you can always see the Treehouse. I can tell you that I would be amazed if we ever see a Frontierland in this park. I just can't see them replicating the Rivers of America after having already shelved those plans for this new Jungle Cruise. Lee

They already have the Jungle Cruise Boats and the Rafts to Tom Sawyer Island. Some Native Canoes or outriggers could be a lot of fun. Rides don’t get much more interactive than the canoes. Let them shoot a separate canal from the Jungle Cruise (so they have a shorter trip, like maybe they just lap the island) which goes by some additional wildlife or native encampments. A wave machine that would allow the riders to safely coast back to the shore would be really awesome. Launch from the busy walkway and wave to the guests of Adventureland as you head into the dark heart of jungle. Beware the dangerous Jungle Cruise skippers and Tarzan rafts as you eventually shoot down a small brook that cuts Tarzan's island in two. Slowly make your way back here, while keeping your eyes out for snakes, and other dangerous wildlife in these close jungle quarters. Make your way across the canal, while dodging those abandoned vessels and wrecked ships that dot these shallows. They were too large to make the voyage. Shoot the rapids and come back into the main river, for a thrilling ride back to shore as your outrigger catches a wave and surfs right up to the sandy shores and docking area. It could be another new twist on an old classic. I also believe that we will never see a Frontierland here. All of those attractions can be repurposed to this jungle/Adventureland environment.

DLP will never feel like DL just like DL will never feel completely like TDL. Yeah, its all the little unique differences that make you feel like you are somewhere else despite the fact they all have a castle and a Main Street .
