I don't think it has been formally announced that they will be extending the life of the suite sweepstakes but everyone I spoke to from Jay down said they were looking into how to keep it running indefinitely. One thing is for sure: despite numerous requests to buy a night WDW will never charge it out for profit. One well known celebrity offered $50k for a single night in the castle.

There is a concierge who ensures that they remain in the suite. I would guess that they would be able to visit a park that was open later than MK and would be lead inside the suite.
