There are things I used to be a fan of and am no longer because they brought me no enjoyment, and worse yet brought nothing but bad feelings...it's okay to move on from anything, including Disney.

If Disney ever disappointed me to the point I hated everything, I would be elsewhere.

And you're suggesting I'm missing what precisely about the FL expansion?

You can be sure I don't pay to visit the place anymore. There's no value in paying what they're charging. I like going once or twice a year for a day, but that's all. If I can vent here, then so be it. When they give me something to praise, I will. Until then I'll just be a grouch at LP--and perfectly adjusted in real life.

I prefer being a grouch at LP, and a malcontent in real life.

I hear you. Still, I think the way you reduced the FL expansion down to nothing more than "a new ride and a bunch of places to rub shoulders with underpaid character performers" was a bit harsh.

But that's what it is. Mermaid and Be Our Guest are welcome additions, but the rest is wasted space/money. Money that could have gone to a thrill ride in Adventureland ot Tomorrowland, which is desperately needed in the MK.

I want to be excited for this thing, but I can't be knowing it will just perpetuate the MK's problems.

It's what's behind there and toward the train station that is a mess - and it appears WDI knows it. The Dumbo is a practicality of moving Dumbo, so they want to expand - ok, I can deal. But that huuge chunk dedicated to either more meet/greet or a crappy fairy ride? That's where most people say "this sucks."

You are right about that. Still, that Pooh playpen (or whatever they called it) needed to go. If they spent the money elsewhere in the park I'm sure there would be vocal opposition as well as folks why they aren't fixing Fantasyland.

Maybe it's time for the Magic Kingdom to get a full face lift like the one DCA is getting.

It's a few years past time. But if they did that--an update of Tomorrowland, Adventureland, and Fantasyland, I wouldn't be nearly as grouchy as I am.

Tomorrowland.. well there's a reason people refer to the entrance area as "the vortex of suck."

You're right, it's fine for people who visit MK once every ten years. Jungle Cruise could stand an update, and Tiki Room is Adventureland's version of SGE. But I would take an updated Tomorrowland over Adventureland in a heartbeat.

It would have gone if just Mermaid and BoG was built.

Ummmm...no. The spinner does a ton of harm. It completely clashes with the feel of the rest of Tomorrowland, it has that obnoxious camel, and creates horrible bottlenecks.

Jungle's been in line for a HM style refurb for years. The day it happens will be a cold day in hell, though I fear.

Have you seen DL's Adventureland? It is more bottle-necked daily then MK's ever gets in the worst crowds.

The photospread in the recent LP magazine does make it look like a magical land to walk into. So i am hopeful

What about Raging Spirits/Temple du Peril for Adventureland?

On another note, I think that the new Fantasyland looks pretty cool. The land is mostly for kids and the new stuff is more entertaining for them and will give us adults some eye candy to look at.

Ideally, there would be an Indiana Jones ride in Adventureland. I don't know if there's enough room for it, but that's the one thing that makes DL's A-land so superior, IMO.
