As for he Tomorrowland Stage, they did build that dreadful SSC Stage to replace that.

The stage in TL has no bearing on the old one... there's not venue for people to go into, they just gather. And it's lightly used.

While I agree that the Stitch stage is hardly an adequate replacement for a real theater venue, neither stage was ever really used on a regular basis. The old stage had the rubberhead show during the Christmas parties, and occasional school bands and orchestras, but I never saw any regularly-scheduled shows performing there. Maybe decades ago, but not this side of the millenium.

As far up as 2002, I think, there were shows there. Shame.

That is correct. The Tomorrowland Theater was the home of severalopular shows that performed there on a daily basis... such as "Disney World is your World", Show Biz Is", and "Galaxy Search".

Besides, if they really must see a show there's always the one foamhead show on the castle stage ... how long has this one gone on unchanged now? Five years? More?

I wonder how many different shows TDL has had in that span? A dozen? More?

An entertainment company that no longer has the desire to entertain except for guests with the lowest possible demands at its flagship resort.

I suppose I could ask when Disney last raised the bar in Orlando themed entertainment ... but I'd hear the same crickets as when I've asked to see one photo of Iger, Staggs, Jobs and Co taking the Wild Africa Trek ... or when I've asked one of the passive aggressive 'Disney Lifestyle' bloggers/podcasters to join our discussion instead of whining like kids on a playground.

Not to go off on a tangent, but this came up earlier today with a pair of LPers ... and I really don't feel like starting a thread when there's really not much that can be said about a construction site ... so...

I enjoyed reading Kevin Yee's column about the two grand a night cottage at Vero Beach he recently enjoyed for FREE, but I'd wonder would he (or his roomies) ever pay that? And would they say point blank they would never pay that or that 'Vero Beach is wonderful, but the $70 a night Holiday Inn Express is where we'd stay if/when we return'? ... 'cause it's all well and good to tell other people how magical a company's products are when you don't pay for them. But it's patently disengenuous to ever expound on the virtues of said product when you'd never put your money (or your family's ... spouse's ... ex's ... friend's etc) on the line for the experience.

BTW, the above wasn't meant as a shot at Kevin as he never takes (or is offered) freebies, but more of a general example of what happens when people tell everyone else what they should do with their money when the individuals in question wouldn't pay to do likewise and fail to disclose that fact because it is not in their best interest to do so.

    Just a thought ...

As for imagination. I don't go to WDW so I can "imagine" some fun experience. It would be far easier and cheaper for me to climb into one of my closets with the lights off and imgaine all I want about being on park rides and attractions. I want substance and not "fluff". If Disney isn't going to deliver then there are plenty of other entertainers that are willing to deliver.

Right, because the shows the TIMELESS things haven't been updated, and and are falling apart, and are from 1994.

    ...I might still be bitter...
