As far as I'm concerned Mickey and Minnie are over at the Main Street Town Theater. One location is enough for me. Multiple locations in my opinion get redundant after a while. And quite frankly the whole park could use some new energy pumped into it. I just had a flashback to years ago when 20K was bulldoozed and many of us here on LP were saying now is the right time to redo the entire area including Mickey's Toontown and incooperate it into either Fantasyland, Tomorrowland or build a better Mickey's Toontown. Looks like we got our wish years later!

Maybe now is the right time.

I don’t ever recall this much work and upgrading being done at once to existing parks in the past.

The magic to me is at D L when you can see eye to eye with the very interesting rooftops of Fantasyland and the Castle. That perspective gives it the feel of extra height and magic. Hopefully I am wrong and dueling dumbos is as special and unique as Hans has mentioned(clockwise effect is intriquing)...Always something new to be found and shared.

But I can't fault WDW on having two of them. Althought I think a 2nd story viewing area ( perhaps built into the tent ) simular to TDLR would have been really neat. I am so glad they put Dumbo over water like DLP and TDLR.

They replaced their ride in the early 90's after an accident with the original ride mechansim (which had been decorated in the early 80's FL redo to look like the current version, but with only 12 cars), where on of the cars became detached during the ride cycle, and was only connected by the safety cable. The mechanism that had been built for DLP was sent over, and the area was slightly reconfigured to fit the bigger ride in. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wi...umbo.jpg Hong Kong has the advantage of the mountains behind the park: http://land.allears.net/blogs/...umbo.jpg I definitely think that Paris 'wins' for water features though: http://farm4.staticflickr.com/...a2_z.jpg

Those Dumbos look so sad and lonely spinning over that sea of asphalt. It's interesting to me that the new WDW versions don't have Timothy mouse atop the rides.
