Well, yeah. And I don't think you are wrong in your assesment that WDW seems to have missed the boat on their latest entertainment offerings.

You and I are thinking the exact same thing when it comes to the whole "Disney Parks" thing that was touted as making both American properties more alike. There appears to be a growing quality gap between the Orlando property and the Anaheim property.

I would have thought that if a High School Musical Pep Rally was going to be added to both American properties at the same time that it would have been nearly identical in both Orlando and Anaheim. But that couldn't be farther from the truth, and it's apparent in many areas not just the entertainment. What then is the point of this whole Jay Rasulo "Disney Parks" global brand? There doesn't appear to be any sharing of ideas or resources between the two American properties. And if there's a growing chasm between Orlando and Anaheim, then you know there is no sharing going on between Paris and Hong Kong either.

But from a paying customer perspective, DLR is out classing WDW in a major way right now. Why is that?

    agreed.

I saw the pictures for DCAs Rally then I saw WDWs. WOW that was disapointing. The "teaching" part went way to quick to pick up easily (and I have a dance background...)and it was just "cheap"

Same with the "let's have a ball" DLs looks 1000% better than WDWs which on the day I was there lost 2/3rds of its audience halfway through the show due to its dullness... (Even the Guest Relations CM at Tipboard who gave me showtimes said Lets was pretty bad...)

Ive seen them all now and the only one with ANY repeatability is The Capt Jack tutorial and possibly Woodys Cowboy Camp

    The others? Not so much.

This is why I feel DL is better resort in many ways compared to WDW. Yes, I love the deluxe resorts, DAK and Epcot, but the entertainment at WDW does womp compared to DL or even DLP.

This is exactly what is wrong with the global initative. If a specific resort can't afford to do what is being pushed on them the right, proper, Disney way, then they shouldn't be included and doing it at all. Nothing comes off worse to me then things that are done bare bones. Might as well wait or move on with something that can be done well.

Good ol' Disney. They certainly have it down to a science, huh.

Find something unique, special, creative, popular, and squeeze it until all of that is absent. Exploit it into nothingness. Or worse, until it becomes annoying via over exposure.

I hunted around for 45 seconds here on LP and couldn't find a report on the "Let's Have A Ball" thing, so I went to good 'ol YouTube and found a video there in about 2 seconds. <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kC_p-hJryg&mode=related&search=" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v

    OH..... MY...... GAWD.

Okay, seriously here people, I think there needs to be a criminal investigation into the issue of which WDW executive is embezzling all of the money out of the Magic Kingdom Entertainment budget and siphoning it to his secret account in Switzerland. Surely there is a Vice President who drives into the WDW Team Disney parking garage in a $400,000 Ferrari instead of the $50,000 Lincoln he should be driving.

Just like Princess Fantasy Faire, this Let's Have A Ball thing was touted in press releases by Jay Rasulo as part of the Year Of A Million Dreams entertainment packages coming to the parks to help make peoples dreams come true. The reality of this offering is so sad it's simply hilarious. It's like watching a local childrens TV show from the 1972 or something, except it's live and happening in the year 2006. The potted ferns purchased at the Wal-Mart garden center that ring the tiny stage are my favorite accesory.

Surely there's a cub reporter at the Orlando Sentinel that could start digging around the dumpsters at the Team Disney building to see if he can find some evidence of embezzlement or accounting fraud in the WDW Entertainment Department. There simply has to be a good reason why this stuff at WDW is so markedly inferior to the identical or similar offerings at Disneyland.

The sad thing is that Entertainment often gets more favor than Operations. The day-long closings of the Castle walk-through is a perfect example of this.
